can….my doctor DID NOT have me follow any
special diet before surgery. In fact, I totally pig
out…I ate everything and anything I could get my hands
on because I knew it would be the last time I was
going to eat like that again in my life. I am sure your
doctor has very good reasons however and you should
follow his instructions. <br><br>Thanks for the
compliment on the picture. I always hate getting my picture
taken, but since I had my surgery and am looking a
little smaller, I just might change my mind.<br><br>As
far as doctors are concerned….did you check out the
"links" on this site. There might be something there for

i everyone!!!!!! I got my ins. approval this
morning, much faster than expected. Dont have a schedule
day yet, but I think it will be about the 3rd week in
April. Lots of emotions jumbling around inside me right
now…ranging from "oh my gosh, what have I done" to "I cant
wait to be able to wear shorts again." Reality is
beginning to set in. Gulp!!! Good luck and God bless to all

i, Helen here….I hope I can give some words of
encouragement. About diaharria (sp. wrong) I never experienced
that before, but that is not to say that others have.
I find that I am more constipated than anything
else because of the high doses of iron that I take
each take. It took about a year and then things
started to work our better and I am back to regular bowel
movements each day. Pleasant afternoon conversation isn’t
it. WENDY do not get cold-feet now. Not after getting
as far as you have. So many people think that they
are just going to fail again. I know I felt the same
way. I would lose about 10 pounds and then it would
stop for a while and I would think…well that’s
it…no more weight loss. Then I would drop another 10
pounds and it would stop again. Pretty soon, all those

ello everybody! My name is Cheryl, I’m a 34 yr
old married mom (13g) from Illinois, and I am having
an open RNY on April 13. I joined this group several
days ago, as soon as I found it. I was thrilled to
have found people who understand about this surgery
and what it means to me. <br><br>I must admit, I am
nervous about the surgery. I can’t believe there is hope
for me after all this time of living life as a fat
person. I really truly had given up hope of ever losing
this weight and had given up the "diet fight". I
constantly have to tell myself that this CAN and WILL work
for me, as long as I’m willing to WORK for it. I keep
praying that I will be a success story, rather than a
failure. <br><br>My sister Barb is also having this
surgery, on April 12 (the day before me). We will be

am sorry I have been so quiet lately. I seem to
be so busy, I haven’t even checked to see how you
all are doing. I am sure I have even missed some
surgery dates haven’t I!!! I read some of the other posts
and I am kind of blushing. I never in my life thought
I would be a "blessing" or "inspiration" to anyone.
I was so busy trying to blend in with the
wallpaper, I would never open my mouth to give anyone
advice. Maybe the computer makes me braver. I am glad I
could be of some help. I was on a couple mailing lists
and got royally blasted for trying to give advice so
I dropped out of them. I was accused of trying to
be a doctor. I hope each of you listen to what your
doctor says, but listen to your bodies as well. Only
"WE" know our bodies as well as we do. Take care and I
