Prejudice After Surgery !
probably won’t get too much feedback since this
is such a quiet site, but I need a place to vent my
frustration at people that don’t understand the need for
weight loss surgery. After years of being tormented
because I was "fat and ugly" I am now facing the reverse
prejudice of only had the weight loss surgery because I was
too lazy to diet. Don’t these people realize that
this is not the miracle cure diet for lazy people. I
have worked the hardest on my weight problem after the
surgery they I ever did before and I wasn’t considered
lazy then. It is a constant struggle to keep
everything in line as far as proper eating and exercise.
This was no quick fix. If I hadn’t had the surgery, I
wouldn’t be in any position to exercise or anything else
because I probably would either be dead or at the very
least not even moving by now. Why do we get snubbed
because of being fat and then when we do something about
it, we are also snubbed. If it is all the same to me,
I will say Hooray for us!!!<br>We did what we had
to do in order to live a more fulfilling life. It
took a lot of guts to do what we did and more power to
us….Thanks for letting me vent….Helen

ELLO,IM A PERSON WHO’S ALWAYS HAD A WEIGHT
PROBLEM,I HAVE LOST AND GAIN OVER THE LAST 11 YRS OR SO IM
A VERY GOOD DIETER BUT THE WEIGHT ALWAYS COMES
BACK,IM GETTING SURGERY IN FEB. AND IM SCARED THAT IT MAY
NOT WORK,I JUST WANT TO BE A NORMAL SIZE AND STAY
WITHIN 5-10 POUNDS OF IT,I DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM BEING
OVERWEIGHT THE WEIGHT I AM NOW IT IS UNHEALTHY,HARD TO MOVE
AROUND AND HAS PUT ME IN A DEPRESSION,THIS IS NOT A EASY
WAY OUT I KNOW IT WILL TAKE A LOT OF WORK TO GET ME
FEELING BETTER.PLEASE WRITE ME BACK,I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW
ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR SURGERY AND YOUR WEIGHT LOSS ,KEEP
TRYING!!!!!I’M PROUD OF YOU!!!!

You don’t have to tell anyone you had surgery.
You can also tell them I did what I did because it
was right for me. I think people who are severely
overweight have a lot of confidence issues anyway. You sound
like you’re happy you had the surgery. Good for you
that’s what counts. Their opinion has no bearing on your
self worth. I hope you’re in some type of aftercare or
therapy cause this sounds like a long term issue for you.
