To Kelly and Nicole
irst off Kelly–I know you are looking forward
to your surgery but you would be crazy if you
weren’t apprehensive. You probably will regret the
surgery at first, just remember that this is your
hormones working overtime. Don’t be surprised if you do a
lot of crying also. As the weight starts dropping off
your outlook on the whole thing will change and the
world is going to be a more positive place.

To
Nicole: When you first have this surgery you can not eat
very much of anything. Liquids mostly and later comes
"soft foods." At first you wonder if you are ever going
to be able to eat anything at all. As time goes by
you return to eating what will become normal for you.
For me it’s a little of this and a little of that. No
more filling my plate two and three times. You will be
able to eat pretty much what you want to but you will
find that you will only eat until you are full and
then won’t want anymore. There are somethings that I
can not tolerate, cake make me nausceous along with
chocolate and ice cream but these are not great lose to me.
I can tolerate vegetables, meat and fruits very
well and that is what makes up a good diet anyway. Is
there any thing else you are not clear about. I will
help as much as I possibly can. Helen
