I’m New to this list
‘m new to this list and so glad I found you all.
I will be having an open rny with Dr.Afram in
Washington DC on April 5. I was approved by my insurance
company in one week (BC/BS Federal). I had not expected
it to happen so soon but I’m delighted. I’m
concentrating on getting togeter a list of foods stuffs to have
on hand when I come home from the hospital on a
liquid diet and then soft food diet. I plan to get back
to work (i sit at a desk all day) as quickly as
possible so I will need to make choices that I can take to
work while still adjusting to my new digestive tract.
The benefit of those of you who are post ops will be
appreciated. Does anyone have good suggestions? Thanks…I’ll
look forward to hearing your responses. jane s (from

ranberry, Apple, grape, nothing harsh like pineapple,
orange (stay away from citrus in the beginning it is too
acidy). Also the prepackaged jello is handy since you
will probably not feel like standing and making jello
for yourself. Get yourself some boulilion cubes along
with tea bags. You might want to venture a popsicle
now and then although the cold sometimes seems harsh
at first. That is pretty much what you will need for
a while unless someone can think of something I
have left out. I had my surgery August 14, 1997.
