Howdy From Helen !!
am sorry I have been so quiet lately. I seem to
be so busy, I haven’t even checked to see how you
all are doing. I am sure I have even missed some
surgery dates haven’t I!!! I read some of the other posts
and I am kind of blushing. I never in my life thought
I would be a "blessing" or "inspiration" to anyone.
I was so busy trying to blend in with the
wallpaper, I would never open my mouth to give anyone
advice. Maybe the computer makes me braver. I am glad I
could be of some help. I was on a couple mailing lists
and got royally blasted for trying to give advice so
I dropped out of them. I was accused of trying to
be a doctor. I hope each of you listen to what your
doctor says, but listen to your bodies as well. Only
"WE" know our bodies as well as we do. Take care and I
will try to keep better track of everyone.
Thanks..Helen

lad you are back, I have never felt that you
were trying to be a doctor. You just have been where I
am, thanks for taking the time for the kind words and
the hope. I have only 8 days before surgery, I think
I am ready.
I still feel like I am forgetting
something, but have no clue what it might be.:)

Take
care, Kim

im, is your surgery date, March 31st? I should
mark everyone’s surgery date down on the calendar and
then I will know who I should be thinking about. You
most be so excited and so nervous. This is such
remarkable surgery….you will wonder why you fought with
those goofy "diets" all these years. This is probably
the first time I have ever been elated because I
actually lost weight and then I have actually kept it off.
Everyone worries about the pain after surgery. I am the
biggest weenie there ever was..just remember to not be
shy about asking for pain killers. Some times you can
administer your own painkiller through your IV. There is NO
reason to be uncomfortable. I might be kind of a stinker
in the hospital, but I made up my mind I wasn’t
going to be uncomfortable just because someone appeared
"busy." You have every right to pain relief when "you"
want it. Not at someone else’s convenience. Oh well,
enough of me spouting off….good luck to everyone. HOW
ABOUT SOME "BEFORE" PICTURES ON THIS SITE. It would
make some good comparisons for later when everyone is
slim and trim….Helen

ight I am little worried about the pain after the
surgery but I have heard it only last few days. The pain
that I (we all have) went throught being over weight,
I bet is much more painful. I am soooo ready,
before pictures are a great idea. I am looking to buy a
scanner and I would be happy to post, before and after. I
have enjoyed reading and seeing other WLS before and
after. Thank you all for your words they mean alot. How
are you that just had surgery feeling?
Take care,
Kim

i, I am having lap rny on 4/27 and I am very
excited but also a little scared. I have read many of
your postings here and you have so much enthusiasm, it
makes me feel much better about this surgery. I have
read postings where there is a problem with diarrhea,
do you mind me asking about changes in elimination?
I have researched for 2 yrs but still have some
questions. Thank you for answering my silly question.
