Obesity surgery

‘m new to the list, so bear with me. I’d like to
know what the recovery is like from the RNY. I have
never had anything major like this done and it concerns
me. Especially when the surgeon is cutting through
465 pounds of me. Is there anyone out there who
was/is around my weight that can give some background of
their experiences with RNY? I’ve looked through tons of
literature and it seems to be that RNY is the way to go. Any
comments? I’d appreciate them.

i! I had gastric by-pass surgery over a year ago
and have managed a 115 lb weight loss. I am trying to
maintain my weight now at 143 lbs. I vary between 140-145,
depending on the day. The surgery was really difficult to
go through, but I am really glad I did. I am hoping
this club will offer me the support and positive
direction I need to keep myself on track and not to see
that scale go up again. I don’t think I could stand
regaining everything I have managed to lose. I hope this
club is a little more active than some I have seen.

ave a question for those who are postop. I’m
considering having the surgery done but am concerned about my
current addiction to classic coke. What amounts/ portion
size of food, per meal, are you able to have after the
op?

ad a Silastic Ring Ggastroplasty in October of
1997 I’ve lost right at 80 pounds now, very happy with
the surgery and with my weight loss. I’ve hit a
plateau right now, and my weight has been constant for a
while….BUT now I’m in good enough shape to work out and I’m
confident that I’ll be able to fall off this plateau! <br>
<br>I’d like to know if anyone else here has had the same
surgery, and how they ar doing. Anyone else still getting
sick after eating this far out from surgery?<br>

insurance providers who will cover the majority of the expenses. Any hints?
