onna, I'm glad to hear from you. This is the
first time I've heard about a liquid diet. When you
find out about starting it let me know the reasoning
behind it if you don't mind. I know I've already been
through the first stage, but I am courous. I look forward
to hearing from you more even as your surgery date
draws near. My thoughts are with you. Corinna

endy, I understand what you are talking about
when you wrote your letters. I sat down and wrote a
letter to our Pastor and met with him for Communion
three days before surgery. I made sure all my "ducks
were in a row" so to speak, and he knew what I wanted
if you know, but all was fine. I have or had asthma
bad and I had to face to possibility of being on a
ventalator after surgery because of that, so I wrote my
letters and talked with each of my four children and my
husband in a way they wouldn't know that I was scared. I
haven't had any problems with my asthma since surgery and
no problem after surgery. It helped a lot when I
woke up enough that I knew who was there and saw my
husband, I was happy but groggy. I get my work schedule
tomorrow, I'm looking forward to going back. I usually work

3-11 or 11-7 so I will be able to keep in touch with
everyone. Most of my sorness is gone from my fall just a
little at the top of the abdomon. Both boys weigh 69#
that's a lot of dog pulling on you!! The dogs and my
daughter, Debbie, are involved in pet therapy at the long
term care center that I work at, the resident's just
love them. Unlike some people dogs have unconditional
love to give to matter who it is and labs are great at
that. They are very loveing animals. Well enough about
me. You know I'm praying for you and I've put you on
our prayer list for surgery. Is your husband going
with you to the hospital? Mine did of course, and it
made me feel more at ease than if my mother would have
been there. I guess once we get married in different
situations our spouces take the front seat instead of mom.
Cecil, my husband, said he wasn't worried but anxous
(sp) because it was a long proceedure. Talk to you
more later. I enjoy talking and posting it helps me a
lot, so I hope you don't get tired of me.
God
Bless, Corinna

orinna, I have absolutely no contact with my
surgeon since my consultation on the 13th of March. You
know the old say "I feel like a mushroom...keep me in
the dark and feed me bull****?" Well, that's about
how I feel, if it hadn't been for some great support
groups online I'd know nothing, other than all my own
research on the internet, etc.
I guess this was a
indirect way to anwser your question, but as far as I know
there is no special diet that prescribed prior to
surgery. I've thought about all the foods I might miss
after surgery and even went out and bought some junk
food the other day....funny though, it just doesn't
have the same appeal to me now, hope that sticks with
me after the surgery! LOL.....
I haven't gained
any weight, just the contrary, I've lost 5

pounds...go figure!
Like a boob I sat down and wrote 2
letters to my children to tell them just how much I love
them and how important they are to me, and then sat
and had good ol' cry... I know I'm not being
sentenced to death but I am truly afraid now as the surgery
is so close!
Well enough of my whining and on to
other things.
I am so glad your didn't get seriously
hurt from you fall. I have 2 dogs also, but just the
opposite of yours, mine are tiny...a 2 pound "taco bell"
dog named appropriately Midget and a 9 pound
dachshund named Tyler. Midget is 9 years old and my "baby",
Tyler is 6 years old and has nothing on the Everyready
Bunny...he just keeps going and going.....LOL...loves to
play fetch all day long!
See you all soon...from
the other side!
God bless....
Wendy

endy, I have been off work since November 2,
1998. That is when all my problems started. I was
scheduled for surgery in January, but I was ill and unable
to have it, so it was reschedule for March. I am
glad to be going back to work. I am an active person
and use to working. I know the first couple weeks
will be tuff, I may get tired before the end of my
shift. That's ok, I usually have a lot of charting to do
so I can sit and rest with out an excuse!! Four more
days until you come to the other side. My thoughts and
prayers are with you. I know you can make it. Are you on
any special diet? I wasn't so I enjoied the last few
days before surgery, eating all my favorite foods, it
made me feel good. Keep us up to date after you get
home from surgery. I'll be looking for you. Corinna

endy, you're not going to believe this but my 2
labs (dogs) did it. I was holding them until my
husband came in through our gate and they decided they
wanted out worse than I could keep them in, so Scooby
headed out the gate at took me with him and Justin
behind him. As they went I went down on the step that
goes onto the bridge crossing a creek in front of our
place. I didn't have to many nice words to say to the
two boys at that time. I'm not hurting quit as much
today, but it still bothers me. I hate taking medicine
but I sure have been taking the pain medicine the
past few days. A good thing I still have some padding
(LOL)left or I might have cracked some ribs, thats how hard
I hit. My husband was scared he thought I was going
to have to go to the hospital, but I talked him out

of it I've had enough of that. If the pain doesn't
go away I'm to call the doctor. I really like my
doctor he cares and no question is too minor to talk
about. Thanks for you concern I guess I just needed a
sholder to cry on. Thanks Corinna
