How are you doing

Friday, February 21st, 2003

i Dan, how are you doing since your surgery?
Congrads on the weight loss. Are you eating regular food
and how is it going. I’m doing well, I haven’t over
eaten in a while, boy I hate that feeling when you do.
Sometimes I find I eat to fast. During the week everyone
seems to be going in different directions with all the
activities that the children are doing. Schedules everyone
has them. Well just wanted to say Hi, and see how you
are doing.
Corinna

First day back

Thursday, February 20th, 2003

just wanted to let you all know I survived my
first day back to work. Everyone noticed the weight I
had lost which made me feel great. I will be so glad
when I get below 200, that is only 8 more pounds to
go. I couldn’t believe how nice my uniforms fit after
not wearing them for 6 months. I had energy that I
normally would not have before the weight loss. I am on
11-7 for the next three days so I need to arrange my
eating schedule to go with that shift. Today was the
hardest because I could not sleep much this morning, so
I’ll have to just eat a snack for tonight. Hope Wendy
is doing well after surgery, will be glad to hear
from her. God Bless all. Corinna

Returning to Work

Tuesday, February 18th, 2003

i everyone, I’m finialy getting to go back to
work after being off since November 3, 1998. Not all
that time was related to my surgery, other medical
problems. I usually work 3-11 or 11-7, but they have me on
7-3 tomorrow and F-Su 11-7; strange isn’t it! I’m
feeling guilty I had cake last night for a snack, to
problems with being sick, I know that I’m not suppose to
eat sweets, but it’s hard to go cold turkey. It was
yellow cake plain I did past up the strawberries for on
it since they were in sugar. My scale went bad so it
is not weighting right, so I guess I’ll have to get
another. At least I won’t mind looking at the total since
it keeps going down. Well enough crying. Today is
Wendy’s day, she has surgery today, my prayers are with
her and I look forward to hearing from her when she

Welcome Connie

Monday, February 17th, 2003

onnie, I was so glad to hear from you, welcome
to the group, I sure you can help a lot. Was glad to
see the amont of weight that you have lost. What was
your average monthly loss at first? I wondering if my
weight loss is on track. I know everyone is different
but I worry that I’m not lossing like I should be. I
try to walk every day but I have had a few set backs
and it has been slow getting back in to the swing of
things. I use to walk before surgery so I guess I might
be expecting to much, I can’t expect to be doing the
same as before; surgery slows you down. I am going
back to work Thursday so my activities will increase.
Again welcome, Corinna

New member that has lost 185 pounds.

Monday, February 17th, 2003

y name is Connie and I had surgery in 1997 and I
have lost 185 pounds. I walk, run, workout in the
fitness center and do all the things that I never could.
I had vertical banded gastroplasty. It is a form of
stomach stapling, with no involvement of the intestines.
I am still not able to eat but about 4-6 ounces at
a time and I have trouble with meat or chicken or
fish. I usually get 30 grams of fat a day, 50 protein,
and I drink milk at least once a day. I really do
think this is the best thing that I have ever done for
myself. I started out at 310 and now I am 125. I wear
size 4-6 now and then I wore 30-32 in womens. A BIG
difference.

i everybody! I don’t really post much but I read
this board like a crazy woman! I am having my surgery
on Tuesday 4/13. My sister is having her surgery
tomorrow 4/12. I just wanted to thank each and every one
of you who take the time to care for me and each
other through your words on this board. It is
constantly amazing to me how much I care for you all and how
much I can feel your caring toward me, even though we
are really complete strangers. Kindred spirits, I
guess. I would not have had the courage to carry on and
go through with this enormous change in my life if
it hadn’t been for all of you. My eyes and my heart
are full as I prepare to take my journey to "the
other side".

My sister and I went to the Lone
Star Steak House last night with our families and had
