<description>Yeah Pam I thought it was weird too..but they wanted me to drink just 4 pints of
milk a day..Nothing more Oh I'm sorry I forgot to mention I was suppost to
drink Skim Milk only.

Here If I could afford to go private...I'd probably get the surgery next
week...but I have to do it on the NHS *National Health service* I do not know
alot about it myself

I am lookng to have the Lap Band surgery..Not Roune Y.

Cynda, I'm not surprised you're not losing on slimfast, it has loads of
carbonydrates in it, and if there's one thing we're almost all stuck with,
it's a messed up carbohydrate metabolism. It's why most of us stay on high
protein diets.

&lt;!--more--&gt;
I'm not aware of the docs in the UK, or how they view this treatment. I'm
guessing, given the medical situation there, that it's not done as often as in
the US.

I take sublingual b12, but no vitamin injections. The need for those can be
told with blood tests. I'm sorry to hear about the arthritis and CP - neither
of those should get in the way of your having the surgery, though, that I can
think of - but I'm not a medical doc. Strokes, particularly if they're caused
by blood clots need to be watched - I know my surgeon gave me shots of heparin
to keep me from forming clots.

I can't imagine an obese clinic wanting someone to do a diet of so much milk.
Milk is sugar in white coating... and what we have is a sugar disorder,
usually. Most of us have some form of lactose intolerance, and I have other
allergies to milk. Makes my nose run big time and affects my ability to
breathe.

		<description> all.

I still do not know what is happening with my surgery. I went to the Obese
clinic hoping to finally get a date..and was told wait another month and see the
phyciotrist*sp?* I am going in Dec to see the Obese clinic doctor again and to
see the counciler.. I really have tried to stay on a slim fast diet and I've not
lost any weight...I've also joined a gym and again I don't think it is helping..

Does anyone take B12 injections or vitimans if so can you advise me on weither I
should take some. I am rittled with athrititis...I have a mild form of Cerebal
Palsy..I had a mild stroke last year...

I went to my Family doctor..after visiting the obese clinic..they wanted me to
start a liquid diet of 4 pints of milk a day...my GP said no don't do this...due
to some other risks.. Not sure what is gonna happen.....a bit frustrated.
&lt;!--more--&gt;

I'm american living in England.

Thanks for your advise...</description>

<description>Teri, it's an individual thing, believe me. I think early on my indicator
that my pouch was full was a feeling in my chest, above my breasts, if you
can believe it. I do know that if you eat one bite too many, you'll hurl,
so there is that. Are you eating really slowly? That helps, particularly
when you pay attention to how you feel. It's a matter of learning to
recognize the signals of our new pouch. Some people say it's when their nose
starts running &#60;G&#62;. At this stage you probably can't eat more than a couple
of oz in 30 minutes.

Hello, im Teri and i just had surgery two weeks ago, iam on the 2nd
stage diet and im having trouble figureing out when my pouch is full.
What should i do?

<description>Welcome to the group. I am seven weeks out and have lost 30 lbs. I started
at 277 and a size 30-28. I am now a 22 petite. I continue to have difficulty
realizing that I've had enough, which results in pain, and sometimes
vomitting, but all and all I feel fantastic. I excercise to an old aerobics
tape 3 days a week, and do a upper body work out 3 days a week. I have so
much more energy, and feel so much better.

I've lost enough weight that my face looks like me again. I was on insulin,
protinix (for reflux), and prozac (because it's a drag being fat). I am now
off of my preop meds. It has been a great thing for me, but it is major
surgery with risks to weigh. Good luck.
