Hey Mamma and Ican!!! :)
hanks so much for your warm welcome! Since
everyone is open and honest here, I am searching for the
"bad" stuff. I am still trying to weigh the pros and
cons, and all I can find are the success stories. I
can’t help but wonder, where are the people who
wouldn’t do it again? Has anyone met someone who did have
a bad experience?

had the WLS on August 14, 1997. I am still
waiting for the bad stuff to happen. I know there are
people out there that have had bad stuff happen to them,
but it seems that with the final success with weight
loss, the bad stuff is forgotten about. I know when I
first had the surgery done, I second-guessed myself for
about a month or a little more. Then when the weight
started coming off, I completely forgot about the bad
stuff (pain, unable to eat, etc). Now, I am at the
point where I expect the weight to "jump" back on
again, but my weight is staying consistant and I am
happy for that. If I experience any of this "bad stuff"
I’ll be sure to pass it along. We should all be
willing to hear the bad along with all the good. Probably
the people with success stories are more willing to
share….don’t know. Take care. Helen
Surgery 8-14-1997 @ 255

i Helen
I have to give you the biggest hug
and pat on the back. You have been a god sent. I have
read everyone of your posting and they are very
positive and very informative. Please keep up the good
work. I have learned alot more this time around then I
did the first 2 times. I wished that the R-N-Y
surgery was around back in 1986 when I had the first of
my stomach staplings (VGB) done. Thanks again Helen
for your positive out look.
Donna
Pre-op 222.2
