Hi Deb and everyone else! I'm still here, don't
worry, I sort of lurk everyday and email some of the
members personally because I have a problem with going on
too long with my posts! Of course Debra you know what
I mean from my emails to you, they were worthy of
being novels...LOL!
Anyway here's the update! I am
one pound shy of 80 pounds lost and I've lost track
of how many inches gone! The last time I measured
myself it was over 40 inches gone. Tomorrow will make me
16 weeks post op and I can't begin to tell you all
how much energy and how good I feel now.
I used
to wear a size 32-34 (wow, that's embarrassing to
admit!) and now I'm into a size 24 1/2, I'm a short 5'3"
so the half sizes are for me! I can actually buy
some of my clothes off the racks at the department

stores although still from the "womens"
department.
I'm flying home to California on Saturday for the
birth of my first granddaughter and I can't tell you
how excited about this trip but also still worried
about my big ol' rear end fitting into that plane
seat...wish me luck!
Take care all of you. Debra, great
job on the weight loss! yippeeeeee!!! Also hang in
there about the neausea, it will go away. I was
miserable for the first 6 weeks as well and thank God the
neausea goes away.
God bless you all and be
well!
Wendy...Clearfield, UT
pre op 4-14-99 weight 355
as of 8-10-99

Thank you also for your encouagement. It really
helps the time fly by quickly.
I found out that the
authorization number that Janet gave me was for the referral to
see the physician not for the surgery.
They still
have it in "pending" status.
I will check back
tomorrow evening.
Adam's ship returns Friday... Our
fifth anniversary!! I am so excited. ;)
Take care
and God Bless,
I can't wait to join you on the
other side!
Lisa Boone

RNY scheduled for

isa, has your doctor submitted the paperwork to
Tri Care? I only had one visit with my doctor/surgeon
and was approved less than a week later by Tri Care.
I didn't wait for the doctor to notify me of the
approval, my husband called our local office for Tri Care
and found out directly from them that the surgery had
been approved. I waited a couple of days after I found
out the approval and then called my doctor's office
to confirm they had the approval info as well and
they did. However I didn't get the actual "congrats
you're approved" letter from the doctor's office for
another week, but I had already found out all I needed to
know by doing the "leg work" myself (well actually my
hubby did it for me).
WORD OF CAUTION....please
make sure you find out EXACTLY WHAT TRI CARE IS PAYING

FOR! After I was told the surgery and everything was
covered 100% by Tri Care and that all I had to pay was
the $11 per day hospital charge, I got a bill for
charges over and beyond what Tri Care would pay
for....
this includes the assist surgeons fees, anstisologist
(sp), and the gall bladder removal surgery, etc.
Although I'm only paying a co pay of 15% of the charges it
still adds up! I'm praying I don't get another bill for
the hospital charges! This really burns me up too
because the insurance nor the doctor's insurance people
never explained this to my husband and I. So please
make sure you get everything in writing and watch out
for those "hidden charges" that will sneak up on
you!
Best of luck to you! God
bless.
Wendy....Clearfield, UT
