Hi all!
Hi everyone, my name is Terri and I had
laparoscopic gastric bypass done by Dr. Rutledge in NC on
July
12th. I live in upstate NY but wanted to have Dr.
R. do it because I liked the idea of having 5 tiny
scars as
opposed to a big zipper one
Unfortuneatly I now have both because a week after the surgery
I had a
complication of a small bowel
obstruction which caused a second operation. Now I am sitting
here with
an infection in the incision to boot!
Sigh, believe it or not I am still not sorry I did
this. Before the surgery
I weighed 270lbs and am
5′7" tall. I am down 23lbs. I can’t wait to finally
shop for normal clothes and to
ride a bike! Glad
to find a place to chat about our shared
experience.

T

Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well. I am so excited for all of you that have
recently had your surgery. I am still in the same old holding pattern.
Trying hard to stay on my diet to lose the weight my doctor says I
have to lose before surgery. Right now I am having myself a little
pity party because this is probably the hardest thing I have ever had
to do and I am getting a little inpatient and tired of waiting.
I am going on a cruise to the Bahamas next month for my 25 year class
reunion. I am really excited about seeing my old friends from school
but dreading seeing that old "man has she gained weight"look from some
of them. Most of all I am dreading trying to stay on my diet with all
that cruise ship food around. I have made a committment to myself to
have a good time and enjoy some good food without going overboard
(Pardon the pun) and to not beat myself up for any small slips I may
make. I understand there are many delicious but healthy options aboard
ship these days.
Well just thought I would check in and say Hi. Good luck to you all.
Kat
