Hi Y’all
,
I just wanted to say hi and welcome
all the new members to the group. I haven’t posted in
a while because i have been going out a lot and
ejoying my newfound mobility.

For those who don’t
know me i am 25, single, and a student in college. I
had the Fobi Pouch VBG on April 23, 1999 in Belflower
California and i have had only two problems; dizziness and
an opening in my incision line that took an extra
three weeks to heal properly.

I have lost
fifty pounds and seven inches and went from XXXL to XL
shirts. and it has been only three and a half months. I
can’t wait till i am one year post-op.

Anyhow,
welcome new members and to my friends, i’m still around.
Bye for now
George

,
I just wanted to share something
that happened to me on Friday. I went down to
Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA to check out the dorms
and classrooms while everyone was on their summer
break. There were still some students there but mostly
it was empty.

I was just walking around
campus checking out every single building and just
looking around. I like to dress nice whenever i can and
that was a time i did. I got so many smiles and hellos
from the ladies that were walking there too. That
really made me feel good because i used to always just
get looks, stares, and at times i would be ignored as
i walked by someone. I haven’t gotten one of those
evil stares in quite some time now.
My self-esteem
and self-worth are going up and i feel i can do
anything. That is why i am working harder with my school
work and trying to tranfer to Pepperdine. i have a GPA
of 3.43 and i have to get it up to a 3.70 so i can
get a scholarship from the school.

Right now
i still don’t feel comfortable to be dating but
with another 50 pounds off i might feel better about
it.

I love the changes in me over the last
three months and i only wish i had been able to do this
earlier.

Take care of yourselfs and for those who are stuggling
to get theirs done, Don’t quite i fought for a year
and a half to get mine done. the squicky wheel gets
the oil (make some noise and bug them untill they
know you by name)

George

George,
That is so exciting — your life is
changing right before our eyes!! I can see you walking the
Pepperdine campus; it is really beautiful. (I used to live
in LA, can you tell?)

It’s great to keep
getting updates from you. I’m still pre-op… surgery is
getting closer though! September

Hi George! Thanks for the post–it was
inspirational and encouraging. It is very helpful to know that
others have had troubles with insurance companies yet
live thin to tell about it! Hope to hear from you
again soon. Good luck. Lynn
