Dear George: (Good name....my husband's name is
George) Anyway, I loved the title of your message. Isn't
strange to have happy and little in the same sentence.
Anyway, I wanted to comment on your statement out stares
from people. My husband never noticed the unpolite
stares, jabs or comments from people when I was heavy. Or
the impolite salespeople. After my surgery I
purposely called it to his attention. Now, two years later,
he watches things closely now and will even say,
"That would never have happened two years ago would
it." It's a sad world we live in when we are only
deemed worthy of respect because of our size. But with
each pound I lost, I found people treated me so
differently. My greatest joy is to go into a mall and to
actually NOT be noticed where before I was the constant
<!--more-->
butt of jokes from every kid under 18 and even jabs
from their parents. What a joy it is to blend into the
crowd now. Thanks....Helen
