Hello everyone :o) I am posting here for the
first time today. I had roux en y gastric bypass
surgery in 1997 and had lost 160 pounds and went from a
size 28 to a size 9 but the doctor told me I was too
thin so I have now gained 15 pounds to his approval. I
really am glad that I found this club because I have
some problems with food since my surgery that I was
wondering if anyone else had. I am 25 years old and I have
skin hanging everywhere like an elderly person, I am
glad that I have lost the weight but am self concious
about all the loose skin…I mean will it ever go back
to normal? Another problem I have is what the doctor
referred to as dumping syndrome with anything containing
dairy. I get very very ill from it. Has anyone else had
a problem like this? If so how do you
cope…?
Thank you for listening, and congratulations to
everyone for their successes. :o)

Thank you for the suggestions, I will sure check
into what you said. Have you had any trouble with
maintaining your weight loss? My mom had the surgery about 4
years ago and lost about 150 pounds but then she gained
back about 40 pounds, she is now maintaining but it
kinda scares me. I don’t wanna gain any of the extra
weight back. I do thank you for the suggestions with the
instant breakfast and the dairy ease. I will try it out
and see if it helps. :o)

Hello
I have gained maybe 12 lbs back, in 5
yrs. Don’t worry you can do it, just because your mom
gained the 40 lbs back doesn’t mean that you will. Just
do everything your doctor/nutritionist tells you to.
And you should do fine, I wouldn’t even try out any
new food unless my nutritionist told me it was ok. I
think I must have drove her crazy, but for the most
part I didn’t have too many problems. I am glad what I
told you helped, please feel free to e-mail me any
time. That is what we are all in here for support. Glad
I could Help.

Pooh

Hi Y’all,
I just wanted y’all to know that i
had the Fobi Pouch done and i am very happy that i
did have it done. I reseached three other surgeries
and i felt most comfortable with Dr. Fobi, his
procedure, and his medical team.
I have had no problems
except for a small part of the incision that didn’t
close right (it took two more weeks to heal).
I am
able to eat anything that i want; i’m not lactose
intolerant, pasta and bread don’t bother me, soda and juices
don’t make me dump. But of course i’m one of the lucky
ones, some in my support group are lactose intolerant
and can’t eat somethings, but that is one of the many
things we need to consider when we plan on having this
surgery.
Anyhow i’m loving my life and it is because i had the
surgery, and Fobi’s medical team made my recovery quick
and comfortable.
If you are considering the Fobi
Pouch, i whole heartedly recomend it.
George
