45 pounds gone!

Hello Everyone, Just thought I"d check in as I
dont post often. Lost 45 pounds since my July 1st
surgery. My clothes are getting lose but I dont want to
buy new ones yet until I buy stuff for winter. (
cheap…nah poor! ) I finally have gotten past being
nauseated daily…now just every now and then. I have had
been trying new foods and so far doing good. Glad to
have finally made it to that stage too! I tell ya now
that I have had this surgery I am so ready to see the
end results…I know I have to be patient but I am so
ready to be thin again!! Enough of me. Paula…your
pictures sure looked wonderful. I am 42 also and cant wait
to one day wear such a beautiful dress as you had on
in that one picture.
May I ask what size is it?
Just wondering where I may could end up!! Laura…I

remember reading your posts a while back and am very happy
to know that you are approved! George you sound so
happy…I love knowing that young people like you and Lisa
have took control of this and wont miss many years of
a active life. For everyone that is checking into
surgery or waiting or approval, good luck. Hope everyone
had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!!
Debra

Hey Debra
first of all congratulations on
losing the 45 lbs. The Dress that I was wearing, our
group got a small shop to sponsor us so that we could
go to our Gastric By Pass reunion. We were all in a
fashion show, and the dress was size 12. I havent worn a
size 12 since I was in the 7th grade. Don’t worry you
will be down to my size in no time. The weight will
fall off, you will probably get like me have to go to
the mirror to make sure you are still thin. I do that
every day still, I am so afraid I will wake up one day
and be back to my old weight. My family can’t
remember when I was that fat person, but I still remember.
Well Good luck on your weight loss, Feel free to
e-mail me anytime as you can tell I love to talk about
the weight loss lol.

Thanks for the wonderful

compliment.

Paula

Dear Paula: I believe that you and I lost about
the same amount of weight. I am also down to a size
12 and don’t remember being that size since Jr. High
School. I went from a size 26/28 down to a size 12 or a
size Medium. I also check myself out in mirrors, store
windows, etc. and am shocked every time when I see a
skinny person instead of a heavy one. I wonder if we
will ever get used to our new bodies. I know I had the
surgery because of health reasons but now it boils down
to pure vanity. I love the way I look in clothes
now, where before, if I could find something to fit
then I considered myself lucky. You look like a whole
new person in your pictures. Congrats. Helen

I just want you all to know that I had the
surgery in 92 and lost 135 lbs and I still am amazed when
I look in the mirrow and see a small person and
find it hard to believe it is me. So I would suppose
the feeling never goes away.

Pat in MI

HI Paula

6. Neva Marjory Says:

hey pat and poohbear :o)
I know exactly what
you mean about having to look in the mirror to
believe it. I have dreams occassionally, that the weight
is back. Like, I go to put on my clothes to find
that they are way too small and I have to go buy size
28+ again. Then when I wake up the first thing I do
in run to the mirror to make sure that it was only a
dream.
Poohbear: My husband is tired of me asking
him if i am fat too. He tells me the same thing about
how I look disgusting while he rolls his eyes that I
could even ask something like that. I guess it is that
once you lose the weight you are so frightened of it
sneeking back on again, that you need the reassurance or
something? I did wanna say congratulations to everyone here.
For those of you either waiting on insurance

approvals or just awaiting the surgery date…you all are
in my prayers and I wish you all the luck. To those
who have had the surgery and are losing
congratulations on your successes. *hugs to everyone here* it is
so nice to have a place like this.

myself as fat many times. But when I was fat I did not
see myself as fat as I was. Who knows? I must be
dippity so what else is new… LOL
Well it is late

Hi Debra!
Congratulations on losing 45 pounds!
You’re off to a great
start!

9. Neva Marjory Says:

Pat . . . that is great! I think we are all
anxious to hear from someone that has had surgery years
ago and has been successful. What type of WLS did you
have? I am supposed to have the VBG if insurance
approves it.Mary in IL

10. Neva Marjory Says:

Mary
I had the RNY and I am very happy with
it. I do not understand what the VBG is? could you
please explain it to me. And I am sure the insurance
will approve but you may have to be persistant in
persuing it. Back when I had mine I had no trouble getting
insurance aprovial for it All I needed was a referal from
my PCP and he was all for it.
