Hello Lisa,
My surgery went well, they found a
big hernia behind my belly button. The doc took my
galbladder because it was so inlarged and full of
stones.
I was in icu for 2 days and then off to a
room.
Once they slowed down the pain meds I could get my
head together and walk in the hospital.
It really
hurt at first but now the only pain I have is from the
staples pulling.
I weighed in at 368lbs the day of
surgery.
I go next wensday to get my staples out and get
weighed.
My stay at the hospital was 6 days because I had a
problem with my temp.(oct 5th-11th)
Then friday after
surgery the nurse made me eat something and I was sick
sweating and shaking all night.(dumping?)
I am still on
puree food, but I don’t mind.:o)
Yes, we do need to
get all us Virginians together…
talk to you
soon,
Dee

<Edema is fluid retention. I have it bad in my lower legs & ankles. I went to
the Dr. today & had blood work. Now I’m dehydrated, but I’m still drinking
what I’m supposed to. It’s the fluid pills…..oh well…..I’ll be better
soon.
Good luck with your consult! I hope you’ll have your surgery soon!
Every morning, I wake up & ask my daughter……."Am I skinny, yet?"
LOL We just laugh………

Dee,
I’m sorry you are having Edema. Why do they have you on fluid pills..and
does everyone after surgery have to be on them? How can you be dehydrated
when you’re drinking the water you should plus be on fluid pills? Is there
a way that can really happen? Geesh, I’m learning new things every
day. LOL! Hope you feel better soon.

, Perhaps you could try adding a little to your baby food fruit. They
also have those yogurt/fruit desserts, that may work with the protein powder.

,
My family doctor just put me on a low carb high protein diet. According to
the chart he gave me we can find protein in a lot of foods. Broccoli and
mushrooms are high in protein. Pork shoulder, rump roast, cottage cheese,
ricotta and lamb chops are very high in protein. It makes sense to me that if
you eat the things highest in protein even in small amounts you may get what you
need. I’m not a diet expert but have been on enough of them to know that you
should check with your doctor to see if he has some suggestions. That nascous
feeling could be a sign of some other problem. Take good care of yourself, you
didn’t come this far to get sick.

Dear Dee, I’m six weeks out and have a lot of difficulty with even chicken
in canned chicken soup. Some days are better than others, it just takes time.
