Question about exercise
Hey, guys. I have some questions. My surgery is
coming up (11/22/99) & I am wondering what the deal is
about exercise. Like: What types of exercise can you
do? How much do you have to do to effectively lose
weight and tone up? Is it possible to lose if you do not
exercise at all? (As you can tell, I HATE to exercise). Do
you stay real flabby and have excess skin if you
don’t exercise? And how soon after surgery (open rny)
can you begin?

Please write back if you’ve had
the surgery and tell me your experiences with this.
Thanks!

Tammy

Tammy,
For me, exercise is a must. I started
walking, very slowly and just around the block, after 2
weeks. I did this for about 2 weeks. And the weight was
just falling off. The following week, I had a
particularly hectic week at work and was not getting home
until it was dark. That week I didn’t exercise. And for
a whole week I lost nothing! The next week (last
week), I started walk/jogging about 2-3 miles, and once
again, the weight started coming off a little bit every
day. But if i go for just one day without doing
something cardiovascular, i don’t lose an ounce. This may
not be the case for everyone, but I think exercise
could speed up everyone’s weight loss. Good luck!
