I am so excited today. I am now 100# lighter! I
can’t believe 100 # of me is gone. I look at myself and
wonder how I could have ever been that big?! I never
want to see it again! :)
I also have a question.
What is the difference between Proximal and distal. I
found out that my procedure was distal. mmm, which one
is that?
:)
Lisa B.
Open RNY July 13,

Hi,
I haven’t posted much .
But, I had an
open rny with galbladder removal and hernia repair on
Oct 5th.
I’ve had only one complication so far and
that was my inscision coming apart in my navel
area.
But, it’s healing, and just a little drainage.
I
went to my surgeon on Tuesday wich was four weeks
since surgery. I have gone from 371lbs to 336lbs.
I
was thrilled and that makes all the aches and pains
worth it.
For those of you having a hard time
remember that it gets better everyday.
And a few months
from now we will all feel normal again.
The only
thing I don’t like is I’m still on puree diet until
December.
Dee (in Va)
Well! I went to the doctor on Wednesday and he
FINALLY removed my feeding tube. I was ecstatic! I’m down
a total of 31 pounds in 3 weeks, not too shabby.
Heck I couldn’t lose 31 pounds in 3 MONTHS before!

It is GREAT to be out of the hospital. I got very
little sleep there part because they were giveing me
breathing treatments, takeing my vitales and a small poke
for blood to check my surger levals. The rest was
just have a hard time getting comfortable and OH
haveing to walk every 4 hours then every hour or 2 on the
last day.
I have a cool scar. It startes about 1
inch below my chest and gose just past my belly button
were the drainage tube hung from. BUT NO stapels like
some surgens use. They stitched me up just under the
skin then used special surgecal tape to hold my skin
together. Then I have a row of gause pads covering the scar
and I were a elastic binder around my waste. FUN hu?

Thank you all for your kind words, it is so nice
to hear. Tammy, I do exercise. I go to the gym every
other day and bike for 30 minutes. I also lift weights
and jog for 20 minutes.

Laura, Thank you. I am
just trying to eat healthier, put a little exercise in
my daily routines and the surgery is doing the
rest.

Trudy, I weighed 304# pre-op. I am down to 212# right
now. I am 6" tall.
Thank you and I wish you all the
best of luck on your weight loss!!!

I still
need to loose about 50# and I will be content,
whatever happens with the weight loss, I am content with
my size now too.
Love you all.
Lisa B.
That is truly amazing! HOW did you DO that? You look sooo good! Tell us your
secrets please!
~Laura~
Thanks for the support all. I will try some of
the things you suggested. To answere some of the
questions my disability is that I weigh over 300 pounds. I
can’t stand for long periods of times and have leg pain
all the time and depressed. My weight is mostly in my
legs which to me is the worst. Some people call them
tree trunks. They think it funny but it hurts. I have
been called a walking heart attack also. Cried for
weeks… thanks again
Hi again.

I haven’t been posting lately as
I am still trying to find out if anyone in Ontario
Canada does the surgery…..
Lisa I checked out your
pictures…they’re great…What a big difference…congratulations
on your loss! I keep reading the posts and will let
you know what I find out in the meantime I have tried
to adopt a new ‘eating’ lifestyle and have lost 8
lbs….seemed to take forever though…but the right
direction…love and hugs Shirley…
