Question about exercise

Wednesday, July 16th, 2003

Hey, guys. I have some questions. My surgery is
coming up (11/22/99) & I am wondering what the deal is
about exercise. Like: What types of exercise can you
do? How much do you have to do to effectively lose
weight and tone up? Is it possible to lose if you do not
exercise at all? (As you can tell, I HATE to exercise). Do
you stay real flabby and have excess skin if you
don’t exercise? And how soon after surgery (open rny)
can you begin?

Please write back if you’ve had
the surgery and tell me your experiences with this.
Thanks!

Tammy

4 month checkup

Tuesday, July 15th, 2003

Hi all…Just had my four month check up which
actually will be 4 months the 1st of November. My weight
loss is now 65 pounds with 35 more to go now to goal.
For those of you new to this I can honestly say…it
has only been about this last month that I have felt
satisified with what I can eat and how I tolerate it. Its
gotten so much better!! I even put a few things in my
mouth that I shouldnt. ( NOT SUGAR ) But i wont
encourage any bad ideas here. I truly am able to eat most
things without any problems other than say breads which
seem to be a commom problem, I can not eat
lettuce…it just does not seem to want to go down, chicken I
have a problem with as well. And other than that about
whatever I try seems to sit ok with me. I drink lots of
water as was mentioned in another post and other than
(more…)

I’m sorry you guys!

Thanks for all your posts of support. Tammy I’m
so sorry to have scared you so badly. You have to
remember that its like 5% that stuff like this happens to,
its just my luck that I am. LOL!
Well, I blocked
my medication tube and the Dr. had to replace it
yesterday. It didn’t hurt but in between, Im staring at this
hole and he goes to get the new tube and I laughed
using my muscles and SPEWWWW it spewed all over his
office, only making me laugh harder! It was like Saturday
Night Live! omg it was funny. Anyway, I can now handle
sugar free fat free yogurt and diet Lipton’s iced tea,
water, and chicken and stars soup. Its been 2 weeks and
I have lost 22 pounds.. ok so maybe it IS worth the
pain. LOL
Love you guys,
~Laura~

I’ts My Turn!

Sunday, July 13th, 2003

Well, tomorrow is the day. Yep, Oct.28 at 11:15
AM. No doubts in my mind that his is absolutely the
right thing to do. I don’t have a case of nerves (yet
anyway). So, to all those waiting for your turn, hang in
there, it is just around the corner. I will post in a
few days and let you know how things have gone.

Well Today is the Day.

Friday, July 11th, 2003

Well it is about 6:34am. EST. I will be leaving
at about 10:30am for my surgery. It is a 2 hour
drive to the Hospital. So I have to be there by
12:30pm. and I asume the surgery will be at 2:30pm.
ooooohhhhhh….. A little nerves but not as bad as the last time I
know what to expect now since this is my 2nd atemped
at haveing the surgery. For those who do not know
why this is my 2nd atemped. The 1st time the surgen
call off the surgery while I was in the pre-op room
because he had a concern about my heart so I had to go
see a cardiologist and get some tests done and he
gave me the green light so now today is my 2nd
atemped.
I will post again as soon as I get access to a PC
again.

Love
BiteMan

-OSE

Anything ending in "ose" is a type of sugar… but not a simple sugar like
sucrose (table sugar) remember not all sugars are bad for us… but like they
say "everything (anything) in moderation"

Dairy products

Wednesday, July 9th, 2003

Hey, guys.

I have a question for you.
Right now I drink a lot of milk (it’s my favorite
drink). Is this a no-no after the surgery?? Does it cause
sickness or dumping? What about other dairy
products?

Thanks,
Tammy

I’m Waiting For Approval

Wednesday, July 9th, 2003

Hi everyone, I have only posted once, but wanted
to share that I have seen the Dr and now I’m
awaiting insurance approval which I don’t think will be a
problem, the surgery is covered under my policy. I’m going
to have Open RNY with Dr Seay in Fairhope, AL. I’m
single and doing this alone, is there anyone that is in
my area, I live in NW Florida but traveling to
Alamaba for the surgery. I’ve done a lot of research and
feel I’m ready but I’m having some doubt about am I
doing the right thing, I hope everyone has gone through
this. If your in my area please let me know, it would
be nice to have someone close to chat
