Just dropped in to say hello

Wow, I can’t get over all the new names
here..most
of you probably don’t even know who I am!
Well,
just to bring you up to date…for the ones that
remember me…*grin*
I just broke the 125 pounds lost
mark today. I am almost 8 months post op and feeling
really good. I want to lose another 75 pounds but my
doctor thinks I’m not being realistic and that maybe 50
pounds more would be more in line. I guess I’ll just
have to wait and see what happens. My weight loss has
slowed down a bit but I was told that was to be expected
and frankly my doctor thought I would have slowed
down with the rapid weight loss around six months but
it just started slowing down this last month. The
one thing that troubles me the most is the hair loss.
I know they say it will stop and the hair with grow

back in but I hate the way my hair looks now, totally
flat, baby fine and dull. Oh well, a small price to pay
for the new figure and better health!
I’ve dropped
from a size 34+ to a size 18-20 and of course I do a
"happy dance" all the way to the cashier, everytime I
find I’ve dropped another size. People in the stores
must think I’m a total "wacko"…hehehehe!
I went
back to work in October, after taking a year off. The
job is going okay and I’m surprised at the fact that
I can rise at 4:00 am in the morning and get my
housework done before I leave for work at 6:15 am! I am so
full of energy now that I can’t seem to find enough to
do! I thought about getting a part time job and my
husband said absolutly not, no way, don’t bring that idea
up again…hehehehe!
I only real complaint I have
since the surgery is that due to the rapid weight loss,
I’ve thrown my hips & spine out of wack and suffer
from some really bad lower back pain. My doctor said
my body was so used to carrying around "another
person" with the extra weight that I have to give my body
time to re-adjust to my new weight…I hope it happens
fast because the only way I deal with the pain now is
with strong pain medications.
Well, that’s it for
me now. God bless you all and hope everyone has a
joyous season and happy millieum!
Wendy Helzer..Utah

Dear Wendy: 125 pounds!!!!!! That’s wonderful.
You must feel so much better and to be into a size
18-20 must seem so great. I was wondering the other day
how I was doing maintaining my weight since it has
been over two years since my surgery. I am happy to
    say that on January 1, 1999 I weighed 144 lbs. I
weighed myself December 1st and I weighed 144 lbs. This
is amazing to me since before the surgery I was able
to pack on at least 10 pounds per month. I hope
everyone enjoys this joyous holiday season. Helen Sawyer
