I’m Post-Op Now
Hi everyone, I had my surgery on 1 Dec and I’m
home now doing great, just trying to get my strenght
back, I didn’t sleep very well last night, can’t seem
to find a comfortable position. I was very scared
going in but had no problems. My scare looks good
compared to what I thought it would, you hear horror
stories. I think my scare will heal with very little
marking, which I’m very thankful for. It is just very hard
at this point trying to figure out how much. I
really don’t feel hungry at all, I have to force myself
to eat. My doctor (Dr Seay) and the hospital staff
were the best I have come in contact with, they made
it very easy for me. Well I need to get some rest,
but I’m on the other side…..

Hi, Trudy! I’m doing sooo much better, thanks. I
went to the store the other night to buy something
that fits me for xmas parties, and was thrilled to
find that I went down from a 26/28 to an 18 in jeans.
I’m an 18/20 in shirts if they aren’t cotton. And I
am so thrilled. Not bad in 7 weeks time. :)
Laura

Dear Trudy,

Congrats to you on your
surgery, I had mine Nov 19th. I am confused though, are
you on a liquid diet? or are you able to eat regular
foods yet? I have been on these shakes and am very
tired of them, I am hungry for food!! not really hungry
like starving, just hungry for food though!! If you
are able to eat after having your surgery on Dec 1,
can you please tell me what your doctor recommended
you to start off with. So far I can have chicken
broth, Jello, and shakes oh don’t forget more shakes..
it is driving me crazy!! Other than that its been
going fine so far I have lost 30 lbs and loving
that.

hope to hear from you real soon,
Keina

Hi Keina,
Sorry it took so long to answer, I
could not get into this site. I had my surgery on 1 Dec
and had my staples removed on 13 Dec and had lost 32
lbs. My doctor started me off on regular food in the
hospital. He feels that I should eat my protein and not
drink it, but of course all doctors are different. I’m
taking victims and next week when I return he will set
me up to take B12 shots. I’m doing great, I have
dumped twice, once for eating to much, it is hard to
think we can fill up on 1 oz of food, it just doesn’t
look like enough. The other was I ate to fast, again
it is hard to slow down and chew, chew, chew when
your use to shoveling in the food and swallowing. I’m
still tired and need cat naps during the day, but I
only had surgery 2 weeks ago today.
I have been
pretty lucky and have had no problems, everything went
great, the hospital stuff was great and I can’t say
anything but great things about my doctor.
I hope I
answered your questions.
Trudy
