Depressed

Hi, guys. How is everyone? I’m doing a little
better, not near as much pain, but I do still have
Pancreatitis. However, I think that it is getting better. I
think I’m already on a plateau on my weight, if you can
believe that. It’s already getting me down. My surgery
(open rny) was on 11/22/99 & as of last Friday, 12/3, I
had lost 15 lbs. But over the weekend I found myself
snacking a couple of times on stuff I know I’m not
supposed to have, & unfortunately I did not get sick or
even full, really. (It was nachos & 1/2 a hot dog).
For the post-ops, do you snack on junk at all? Also,
when should I start exercising?
I keep weighing &
the scale seems to be staying in about the same
place. Maybe a pound or so down, not much. It seems like
last week every time I got on the scale it would go

down a bunch. God, for as much pain as I’ve been thru,
& for as much money as this has cost, I sure hope
it works!!!! I’m so scared.

Thanks for
listening, everyone.
Love,
Tam

    Hello Tam

I’m new here and it’s my first
message, so I say hello to everyone !

For your
problem, I think it’s completely normal.

In fact, I
had my surgery (lap band) on 10 november 1999 and
    lost 8 kilos (about 16lbs)
I have exactly the same
fears and questions as yours !
I don’t know about
your surgery, but with the one that I had, it’s
"adjustable" and I will adjust it on january, so i think i’ll
eat less than i can now and so, lose more weight
    !
But i think that it’s fantastic to have lost my 8
kilos, speciallay at this period of the year where i
    usually gain weight !

Hope to hear from you
    soon,

love,

marie from france

ps : please,
excuse my mistakes in english !

Hi, Marie. Well, I’m feeling a little better
mentally. Physically, I’m still pretty sick. I’m back to
the point where I can’t eat hardly anything because
it makes me nauseous. So as of this morning I’ve
lost about 21 lbs. (3 weeks exactly since my
    operation).
I think I’m sick due to my having
    Pancreatitis.
So could you explain your surgery a little bit. The
surgery I had is definitely NOT adjustable in any way
(open gastric bypass). Also, could you give your stats
(in pounds please, I’m illiterate any other way,
lol). I started out around 253 and am now about 230.
    And I’m 5′7" tall.

How is everyone else
    doing?
Love,
Tam
