effects of alchohol

I was told that after Roux-en-y gastric bypass
that i would be a very "cheap drunk". My doctor said
drinking alchohol now would be almost like shooting it
into my veins and that Id get intoxicated on 1/10th
the usual amount.
Many many others tell me this
is untue. Im not a big drinker anyways but wonder if
this is true before I have a small glass of wine at a
dinner function and end up humiliating myself. Am I
limited to just sips now?

Hiya! Well, this is what my surgeon’s nurse told
me only yesterday.., that things get transferred
into the bloodsteam 10x faster than they normally
would. All at once. 3 glasses of wine can give you
alcohol poisoning, or less than 3 depending on your
matabolic rate at this point. Alcohol is a no no after
surgery unless it is in extreme moderation (1/2 glass of
wine). Its a lot of empy calories as well.
Guess I’ll
    stick to apple juice *sigh*

Laura
