Obesity surgery

I have a date. Monday December 13th at Port Huron Hospital in Port Huron
Michigan. Excitement and nerves in equal portions are tonights

Hello all! I have an appointment with my family
dr. Dec.3. I have to get a referral to see a gastro
doc. I am so afraid that my insurance, Humana HMO is
going to tell me no! Anyone with any experience with
Humana? I am 5-6 and weigh 330 lbs. Right now I don’t
have any serious medical problems. Blood pressure is
great. My cholesterol is high, I’m sure. I haven’t had
it checked in over a year. I am not diabetic.
Basically I am pretty healthy, that’s why I fear the
insurance may turn me down. I would appreciate any feed
back to the insurance questions. Also, how long do you
have to be off work? I have read a ton of information
on the web about this surgery and it seems to be
more successfully than not. I haven’t read all the
messages here, but, the few I did read sound positive. I

Hi everyone! <br>My name is MIchelle and I was
approved for the Mini Gastric Bypass two days ago. I am
scheduled to have my surgery on Dec 1, 1999. I am so happy,
yet I am nervous and scared. Almost scared I will
sabtoge this or that it won’t work for me. Anyone that
would be willing to share there experiences with me…I
am here. Anyone else besides Amber that used Dr
Rutledge in NC??? I look forward to talking to all of

Latety i’ve been thinking about having the
surgery for a long time. Friday I took the first step. I
have an appointment with Dr Fabito at So. point
hospital(LMC). Is anyone familiar with his work? What about
insurance, I have United Health Care. Has anyone ever been
approved for the surgery having this type of insurance?

Just checken in today. Things seem to be going ok. I have found that I can not
handel tuna yet. I love tuna but it dose not like me. I eat mostly soups, scalp
patatos and ham and pudding.

Dose any one have any information on the " Lower
Body Lift ". I had my surgery Nov 19, 1998 and I have
lost 80lbs, now my body needs some more help.<br>I saw
a small thing on the chanel 4 news at 5 on Thursday
and it was very encourging. I had spoke with my Dr.
office about how to help my lower body,( Abs, & Legs ) I
even asked if there was something like putting on a
pair of panty hose to lift the loose skin and then it
was on the news. Did any body see the article?. If
any one can help please e-mail me, I would really

I have a question for the postops… in the
beginning, say a month after surgery, did you feel
incredibly tired because of the limited food intake? What
did you or your doc DO about it?<br><br>Ok thats 2

brand-new member of this group! I am 30, 5′7", +/-275
lbs and have decided to have Lap RNY surgery. I have
found a list of several doctors in Georgia, but I’m
looking for opinions of REAL PEOPLE!!! I’ve heard great
things about Dr. Champion in Atlanta. Anybody used him
or any other Georgia doctors? If so, please reply
using my e-mail because I can’t always check the boards

I had my first visit to Dr. Yates’ office
Wednesday and cannot tell you how much I liked him. He is
so much more personable than the first surgeon I
went to AND he was a trauma surgeon! That impressed
me. His staff was friendly and at no time did I feel
rushed. I have always believed that everything happens
for a reason, and I truly believe that this is the
doc I was meant to go to. Now I will do the happy
dance!!!!!!!!!!Mary P

HELP!~<br><br>I’m having the surgery Monday, (LAP
RNY) and I am beside myself! I am so scared and keep
having these incredibly morbid thoughts. This is not
like me, so I don’t understand it. Did anyone else
experience this? <br><br>I’d love to hear from anyone!!
