Thanks for the responces about my "chilliness"...
I wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy. My dr.
said that I shouldn't be cold and that it was probably
a figment of my
imagination...Uh...NOPE.
:)
Again, THank you!
Lisa Boone

Lisa
I had my surgery back in 92 and I still
suffer with being cold all the time. It seems that I
have just had to learn to live with it. I just wear a
lot of heavy clothes in the winter.

Pat in

Dear Lisa: I am 2-1/2 yrs. post op and I am
ALWAYS cold. My husband walks around in his undershirt
most of the time. I have our family room temperature
at 80 plus I wrap up in an electric blanket. The
best part is when the dog and all the cats pile on
too. My husband always complains because in the car
his feet sweat from the heater going full blast. I
don't think we have the "insulation" like we did before
and that is why we are cold. Not very good when I
live in New York State and we won't see warm weather
until June. Good luck...Helen

Hi Lisa,I am only 3 weeks post-op and am cold
most of the time also. I was driving with my father
today and he had to keep turning the heat on and off
due to me feeling too cold and then too hot! I just
got back to my own home from being out of town and
could not stay on the first floor because it was so
cold even with the heat on. Luckily, my webtv is in my
bedroom! I am going to wear a sweater when I go down
stairs. My heat is on 75*. Hang in there. Also cold in

I haven't had the coldness problem yet, but I
think it is pretty common. I've also heard that it gets
better over time. Your internal thermostat is messed up
from the rapid weight loss and change in eating
habits, but eventually your body figures it out and gets
back to "normal". Good Luck!

Luckily I live in Sunny Southern California. Id
have to move if I lived in the cold states. It is a
fact that once you shed your weight, the cold will
attack you and it only gets worse. Sometimes I feel as
if my fingers are so cold that they will crack and
fall off, and its warm here for the most part.
Everyone else wears shorts around town, and Im in my big
furry coat looking foolish. Im sorry, my doctor said
its an effect they cant do anything about but Im sure
we will get used to it eventually. God Bless

Hi Lisa
It is me MAE. How are you? (Besides
cold?lol) I can relate, I am cold all the time. I can't
wait for the summer to get here. I have lost 65# and
dread seeing winter next year when I lose the rest of
my insulation. I guess I better buy me a couple of
heating blankets soon. Chat with you later.
