Obesity surgery

Hi..<br>I am new to this club..I am constantly
thinking about having this surgery but I am at the
beginning of my journey…I am not really scared as to what
can happen..but just alittle nervous of what to
expect..the good and the bad..is there some kind of
counseling before and after? cause I do not know about any
of you but I feel sometimes that I have built this
wall of fat for a protection of some form..I guess I
do not know or want to find out why I have…

Hi <br><br>My Name is Nancy, I recently joined
the club. I haven’t sent a message before because I
have been in the library reading and learning from
message #1 up to 801. I have learned so much and have
many questions to ask some individuals. much
later.<br><br>I am 37yrs my height is 5′1 and I weigh 315 pounds.
I have two daughters age 12 and 8. <br><br>I have
always been heavy since I can remember. I’ve been on a
diet since I was 14. I wouldn’t even had considered
this surgery but it is my only alternative
left.<br><br>I am an ultrasound technician and two years ago I
tore a tendon in my right knee. Unfortunetly it
happened at the job and workman’s comp took it’s sweet
time to approve surgery. Four weeks later from that
going down the stairs, my left knee gave out.<br><br>So

My doctor is trying to get my insurance to
approve the surgery through chronic acid reflux, or acid
relux disease. I have to have two tests done this
month, one is an EGD and the other is a ph study. The
first test is the one the put the scope down your
throat and take a look around. The other test is similar
in that they insert a small tube down your throat
thru the nose into your stomach, and you have to wear
it for 24 hrs. You have to wear a monitor around
your waist and keep a journal of when and what you eat
and drink. The hard part in my opinion is that I have
to go off my Prilosec for 5 days!!!!!!!! Has anyone
had these tests done? Any information would be
greatly appreciated!

Lisa, <br>I wish I could count how many times I
have viewed your pics since you have put them on! I
have showed them ot a ton of people because I am just
in total awe! Your surgery was one month before mine
and you have lost almost double the weight! I do know
enough to realize the differences between us… but it
has not kept me from dreaming of what is to come! I
went to email you and my mail has deleted your email
address! I would love to chat with you agin! and once more
CONGRATULATIONS! you must feel awesome… and I am sure Adam is
proud of you… and YOUR family must be in total shock!
What has your mom and aunt said?? I hope they have
seen these pics… and seen you since this drop! i
have to tell you your October pic was nice and i was
thinking if I get there I WILL BE HAPPY… but this last

Okay,<br>so do any of you (women) want to have
children after surgery.. If so, how long are you planning
or how long did you wait before conceiving. If not..
what course of "protection" did you use?<br>I am
afraid to take any form of contraception due to most
cause people to gain weight…. so for now abstenance
is the key… am I a worry-wart, or what?!<br>Please
