Hiya! Need advice!
Hi everyone! It has been such a long time since I
have checked the messages… and hello to all our new
members! Welcome!
I have hit a point in my weight loss
that has gotten me really depressed. Five months after
surgery, I am 30 pounds away from goal weight and it just
doesn’t want to come off. I’ve been on this "plateau" for
almost 2 months now. My doc says to be patient, that as
you get closer to goal it will take a while, but..
geesh! And so, I have found myself having pity-parties
for myself, my interest in the computer is gone,
there is more snow on the ground and the end of winter
isn’t in sight!
Any advice for the
depressed?
*sniffle*
Laura

Laura,
You have to kick start your system
again. Take inventory of what food your eating and what
exercises yor doing and do a complete overhaul.
Re-arrage your foods, of course to limit carbs and fat as
much as possible and make a whole new exercise
routine. Swim one day, run one day, hike one day, bicycle
one day and so on. Do a complete change in your
routine, and you will come off your plateu. I promise it
will work. Also, the pitty parties take up too much
energy and dont burn calories. God Bless

Hi Laura, I am new to this club, and saw your
note all I have to say is keep your chin up, it will
come off. Sounds like you did pretty well in 5 months!
I had surgery in June of 99 and am doing great I
think. I am also from Ohio, too. Maybe we can chat
online live sometime, again, keep your chin up and look
forward to the nice weather, it’s not to far away! Hope
to hear from you soon. Carol N.

Laura,
FIVE MONTHS??????? nd you are THAT
close to goal? That is awesome! Just remember that
without the surgery you would never be where you are
today… so even if you don’t loose another pound… there
is alot to be thankful for… but the rest WILL come
off in due time, just remember that it didn’t come on
over night and what you have lost so far certainly HAS
come off in record time… so relax… exercise….
and watch something other than the scale for a few
weeks! Good luck and I will look for a new post in a
bit!
Cindy
