Okay, someone told me not to chew gum after surgery. Did ya’ll have to quit?? 7

You dont have to quit as long as your 100%
positive that you wont sawollow it by mistake. It could
plug your hole and require surgery to remove. I chew
gum all the time, but not while Im walking around or
concentrating on anything intense. Im too affraid I may swallow
it out of reflex and not even know it.
Ditto on the previous "gum" message. Never, never
swallow it!! I couldn’t imagine having to have a blockage
removed. Was in the hospital for my surgery when another
lady was in there having a blockage of steak
removed…..not a pretty site. Always err on the side of
caution….Better safe than sorry…..All those little phrases we
