Newbie to the group…
Hello everyone. I had WLS 2/8/00 and have had
many complications over the last few months. I am
interested in finding out if anyone developed Guillian Barre
Syndrome after surgery and if so, how you deal with it?
Thanks.

You might want to post this question on www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity I
have seen a few other people on there who had GB syndrome after WLS or some
other surgery.

Hi all, I’ve began the journey. The surgery went
better than I expected. I woke in recovery and thought
its over. The first 3 days were rough but now each
day gets better. I am day 5 now. I had to come home
with jp pump. I’m walking laps in the house and trying
to drink water often. I go back to dr. tomorrow for
check up. Take care, Barbie

good luck to you. The first week is easy in some
ways becasue you are on mainly liquids. Once you start
adding solids the journey begins. You will have to learn
through trial and error what you can and cant have. It
was a rough road for me but it only lasted a few
months. It was hard becasue they say to stop eating the
MOMENT you feel satisfied. The thing was, I wasnt able
to feel that and Id end up having that bite ot 2 too
many and end up sick. Eventually I was able to feel
that "feeling". <br>Look for it. Ask yourself after
about 4-5 bites, "Is this enough?"<br>Good luck and God
Bless you on your journey. WLS was the best decision
Ive ever made and Id do it again if I had too.

I am so happy for you… and I must stress for
you to listen to your doc… I hope you have one as
great as mine! I never had the problem "st claire" was
speaking of.. because my doc made us eat and drink with
"baby" things… nice and slow… to give us time to get
used to the changes… also we ate thing in stages…
I was never on a "liquid" diet… I ate oatmeal
before I left the hospital… but it was all strictly
regulated and I never knew what the "next" list would be
until I was THERE! I think that helped too… not
worrying about the "tomorrow" allowed me to just take care
of today… Good luck and remember as you feel good
on the outside….. your insides will still be
healing… although you can’t see it… allow yourself the
time to heal… and this will make the world of
difference in you life… it did in mine!<br>Cindy<br>OPEN
