My Story

Hi there everyone! Thought I would share some of
my story regarding WLS.

I had my surgery
December 14, 1999. I was 300 lbs the day I went into the
hospital. As of this morning I have lost 91 lbs. I have
gone from a size 24/26 to 16/18.

From the
posts I am reading I have come to realize that doctors
do things differently regarding eating after the
surgery. I started eating soft foods 6 days after surgery.
My doctor does not believe in protein drinks or mush
food.

I had no pain after surgery just
discomfort. I was bac to work in 4 weeks. I could not believe
how fast I recovered and how good I felt and am still
feeling.

Do I have problems. Sure do. Don’t eat one way for
48 years and then expect things to change in 6
months. There are certain foods I do not even eat

anymore. Meat is almost a no no. Once in a while yes,
however, I find I cannot tolerate it well or chicken for
that matter. I eat alot of fish and seafood. Sushi
goes down real easy. I don’t miss meat either. I am
eating raw foots and vegies, however, I must chew really
good. I try and eat slow slow slow.

I must admit
I am not exercising the way I want. I am naturally
very lazy. I am also not sleeping well and I value my
sleep. Cant seem to get up in the am to walk and ocme
home to late and am too tired to walk at night. Have
to find a happy medioum here.

Anyway, if
you would like to e-mail me direct please feel free
to do so.

Phyliss
