		<description>Although others have been recommending the patch I have heard that it
is only effective for those 198 lbs or less. True that bcp not an
effective option used alone either. Seems that combining two forms
of birth control (pill/condom, patch/condom), using an iud or the new
&#34;ring&#34; are the most common ways to go. Did your doctor suggest
alternatives when he/she gave the bcp warning?</description>

		<description>Your doctor is absolutely correct. I know of 3 people who became pregnant
while on the pill after WLS. Talk to your doctor about the patch or the shot -
these are your best bet.
