Oops...sorry. I addressed the last message to
Teach and it should have been to you Tracy. Sorry for
the mix-up. Keep up the great work. When someone says
"When are you due." Just tell them you just gave birth
to a 63 pound baby! That should have them wondering
and keep their mouths shut. People can be so rude.
Some people just open their mouths and their brains
stop working. WE KNOW where you have been and how far
you have come....that is all that is
important.

Helen

Dear Teach: Just a few words from experience. I
agree with looking at how much you have LOST not how
much you have to go. Check off the pounds that have
gone forever and just look at that for now. Also, I
did not see any real inches drop away until the last
40-50 pounds. Then I started to really melt away. When
I had lost my first 50-60 pounds....I thought I
looked so hot. Now I look back on those pictures and
think, "I was still huge." The last 40-50 pounds is
where you will dwindle away and that's when you will be
dancing around in front of your bedroom mirror. So there
are my tips for the day....Keep going....You've come
a long way.

Helen (Surgery 8-14-1997)

I noticed in your stats you wrote "63 of 144 gone
forever!" Maybe you should just look at it as 63 pounds
gone forever. I am not putting a weight loss limit on
myself and I find I am more relaxed about it. Taking
pictures is the BEST idea. I wasn't noticing a difference
the first few weeks, so my husband took pics 2 weeks
post op and 4 weeks. The differences arent as drastic
now as they were the first few weeks, BUT we like to
sit and pick out the subtle differences
now.

Try it. It will help ALOT!

~Angela
LAP RNY

Tracy,

Congratulations on your weight
loss. Keep up the great work. One suggestion I have
that I have been doing since before the surgery is a
photo album. I take pictures every month on the
anniversary of my surgery in the same spot in the house. One
front view and one side view. That is where I really
see the difference. It isn't to late to start. I am
sure you have a before picture that you can
use.

For the person who asked when you were due,
suggestion, if it happens again, figure a goal date for
yourself, example my goal weight for losing 150 pounds is
my 50th birthday in March, though I figure I will be
there way before and tell them that date. It will be a
real hoot, especially if that date is more than 9
months away.

I am post op 7 months and have lost

97 lbs.

Again,
congratulations,

Phyliss
Dr. Norman Samuels, Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida
Pre-op: 308
Current: 211
