I keep hearing that they might ask me for proof
that I dieted under a dr’s care or at least records
that i weighed a certain amount. The problem with this
is going to be that I haven’t even been to a dr more
than 3 times in 10 years! I went once in 1990 when I
had my 1st son, once to have a birthcontrol shot in
1996, and when I just had my little one last april!!
How am i supposed to prove anything? Do they always
make you or do they take your word for it? Also, my
records from 1990 have already been discarded by my DR.
Please, any advice is appreciated!

Hi everyone,
I hope this is not a double post sending this to both groups. My surgery date is
approaching quickly only 5 days and counting. I have not heard from the Dr.
office about ins. approval yet. I have called several times over the past week,
the latest was yesterday 8/13 and still no reply. I would not be a happy camper
if this late in the process I get turned down and have to appeal.
I am not sleeping well these past nights. Unsure if it is my foot, the up coming
surgery or not hearing about the ins. Perhaps it is a "lot" of all of them. I
sent away for samples of protein power from Michelle this a.m. I got up early
and read all the postings, yea!! Now I am tired now, and our grandchildren and
great-nephew are here. I am glad my husband is home to care for them right now
but it will be nice also when he can look for work (he retired in June). He has
passed some leads just to take care of the childern and me (foot surgery 4 weeks
ago). Also to be home with me after the wls. (oh, does anyone know about Atena
ins.?)
Bye for now,

Pam,
Thank you for your advice. I have called my insurance about 1-1/2 ago and they
did not have anything. I finally received a call from my Dr.’s office this
afternoon. I spoke with Roxanne (the assistant for my surgeon). She said, she
had spoken with the ins. company this a.m. and everything was at their office
and in order. However it still needs to be looked over my one of the doctors.
According to the nurse at the ins. co. everthing looked fine. Roxanne will call
tomorrow a.m. and I will see her durning my pre-op at 10 a.m. She sounded
positive when we hung-up. I will keep everyone posted. Okay

Marie,
It sounds like you and I were in the same boat there for awhile. My preop was
yesterday at 10:30 and my insurance APPROVAL came through 45 minutes prior to my
appointment. Dr. Terracina in Panama City, FL will be doing my Roux-en-Y and
Cholecystectomy laparoscopically, Tuesday, August 20th. I’m sooooooo excited.
Yesterday was my day, today is yours. I’m praying for your APPROVAL, too!!
Good luck and keep us posted.
