STILL WAITING

Hi, I posted my first message to this support
group back in April 1999, after seeing my surgeon and
being accepted onto his waiting list, now almost 21
months on I am still waiting to have my surgery
performed.
Things here in the UK sure go a lot slower than things
in the US.
I have been told that I may have to
wait up to 24 months, which will take me to
April.
I wish i had the money to go private, instead of
having to wait to have it done on the NHS.
Which is
the National health service.
A very merry
christmas and happy new year to each and everyone of you.

I can probably help you with your situation. Our
surgeon for Adjustable Gastric Banding is in Sweden, and
he can perform the surgery as soon as you want. He
is actually the pioneer of the procedure. And since
Sweden and UK are both part of the EU, it is very
possible that you qualify for Soc. Sec. in Sweden. Please
visit www.surgicalteam.com/obesity, and we’ll help you.
There is no money up front, no risk. Just fill in the
questionnaire.

Thanks for your speedy reply, I am currently on a
surgeon’s waiting list, where I have been waiting for
almost 21 months, I have been told the longest I will
wait will be 24 months, is it still worth contacting
the website you mentioned with hopefully only 3
months to wait ?
How long will I wait as a new
patient applying to the website.

3. Rhonda Machelle Says:

He has time next month. It’s up to you. Anyway, it doesn’t hurt to try.

Thanks again,
Where would the surgery be performed Swecden or the UK, and how
much money are we talking about here

5. Rhonda Machelle Says:

In Stockholm. Since you’re being covered by your
national health care in the UK, this would only be useful
for you if the UK or Swedish health care covers your
cost. The procedure costs $12,300 for anyone not
covered, eg. for patients coming from the Americas, Asia,
etc. Many have personal medical insurance that cover
the expense. Anyway, once you fill in the contact
form, you receive a package of info in the mail. Also,
the website gives you plenty of information.

Hi, I have filled in the contact form on the
website and posted it, fingers crossed, thanks again, I’m
sure that this will cost a lot of money, which I have
not got, so I do not know how I would get to
Stockholm, Sweden, let alone pay for the surgery.$12,300 is
a heck of a lot of money wouldn’t you agree.

7. Rhonda Machelle Says:

I agree, but let’s hope that you get health care coverage in Sweden.

Hey gang, it’s been a little while since my first
post. Basically I have been taking care of all my
pre-op business, my doctor is out of the country until
the end of the month, and then I have my final
consultation with him and then we’ll schedule the surgery. The
wait is making me a little anxious. Everything else is
going fine though. I do have a question, My aunt is
trying to push these "Natural Trim" products on me, I’m
not too interested in them, but there is a drink mix
that compares well to the others. Does anyone else use
the high protein vitamin rich drink mixes, if so,
which? I’m not real impressed by what I’ve seen of the
Natural Trim stuff, but my aunt is a distributor
SO……of course she can find no wrong with them, but I
dont think they have enough protein in their drink

mix. I dont really know much about it.
