Hi, new to the club
Hi everyone. I just thought I would join your
club as I think I will fit in. I just had an
adjustable gastric lapband inserted from BioE on January 10,
2001. I jumped on the scale today, and have lost
17.5lbs, so needless to say I am happy

Thanks for the support…presently at -21.3 lbs.
the prob with the AGB, which really isn’t a problem,
but weight loss is so slow compared to the RNY, but
it is gradual, so that is cool. Just hope i don’t
get impatient.

take care,
deanne

Dear Deanne:
I have just joined this site and
was reading over some of the old messages. I read
that you had your surgery by Dr. Yau on Jan. 10, 2001.
So did I- except I had Vertical Banded
Gastroplasty!Hope you are doing well- what is your diet like
now?
Hugs
Sue

unfortunately i didn’t lose any weight this week, which
disappointed me, i don’t want to reach a plateau so quickly.

Deanne;

Hi just read your response about
your eating and no weight loss. If you are eating too
many carbs it will slow down your weight loss. My
surgeon believes in two carbs a week until you get to
your goal weight. He feels it is most important you
eat protein and vegies and fruit. Also if you were on
liquids at first you will have a slow down when you start
to eat solids.

Phyliss

Well I decided that the switch from fluids to
solids was such a change that it plateaued my weight
loss, but after speaking with others that have had this
surgery they all plateaued at about this time until their
first fill. i have definately cut back on the carbs,
eating protein or fruit/veg at each meal, so time will
tell.

ty,
deanne
