Hi to all. Been a while since I’ve posted so
wanted to update you. I had my open rn&y surgery last
Thursday, October 26th. Came through the surgery with
flying colors and no problems. Have been doing well at
home and walking and moving as much as possible. All
was going great til today. I’ve had my first bought
with vomiting and I pray my last. Feels like something
is stuck and everytime I try to drink water I vomit.
I called my surgeon’s office cuz I got scared. They
said to go NPO til tomorrow and see if all settles. If
I’m still having trouble in the am I need to call
them back. I’ll keep you posted. Cheryl
I am looking for info on jaw wiring for weight
loss. I would like to hear from people that have had it
down. How long were you wired what were the results did
they last how was it to endure etc etc. I DONT WANT TO
HEAR FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE NEVER HAD IT DONE AND JUST
WANT TO TELL ME THAT IT IS A BAD IDEA!!! Just some
simple info on how it went so I can make my own
decision. Thanks so much in advance.
Hi All, glad I found you!

I am in the
initial phases of getting the surgery, had the blood
tests, did the evaluation (the shrink said I was sane,
the fool). I think I have decided on the procedure
offered by St. John, due to its high long-term success
rate (www.weightlosssurgery.com).

Does anyone
have any experience with these folks and the
procedure?

Thanks!

Ray
I have a cousin who is on medicaid and they
refused to pay for him to have any kind of surgery that
would help reduce his weight. I have blue cross and
blue shield and i’m sure they’ll approve me, but he
can not work because of his weight, thus he’s on
medicaid. I was wondering is there any way to get medicaid
to pay for him to have the surgery? He’s twice his
normal body weight at least and he needs this surgery.
If any body has any ideas please post them, thanks
I have 7 days left to get all that I need to have
prior to surgery. One major problem I have is I cannot
have Aspartame. I develop difficulty with breathing if
I have anything with aspartame in it. Does anyone
else have a problem with Aspartame and if so, what are
you doing to stay sugar free?

I have on my
list to get sugar free vitamins, protein drink and
soups. Is there anything else I should be getting. Would
really appreciate any help on this.

THank you in
advance for any help you can give me.

Cheryl
im still having difficulty finding anyone who has
had surgery on the nhs in the uk!! i would dearly
love to hear from anyone who has managed this, how
long did it take and what were the requirements? any
information would be appreciated !!
Howdy to all. Been a while since I’ve posted so
thought I’d update all on what’s been happening in my
life. First off, surgery is 12 days away. I joined a
gym on Oct 1 and have only missed 1 day of working
out. I also have a personal trainer that is working
with me. He’s aware that I’m having the surgery and
will work with me more after I have the
surgery.

I had a wonderful talk with my dad last night on
the phone about my surgery. He asked me some
questions and shared responses with him. I also told him
that I would really like for he and my mom to be there
the day of surgery with me and gave him all the
details. He will see what he can do to get off work. Not
sure if mom can be there since she just started a new
job 6 months ago. I’m feeling better about my folks.
