Obesity surgery

Hi all. <br>Well, all my pre-surgery testing is
done, recliner is rented, hand blender purchased and
now I wait. My surgery is on 4/20!!! I am vascilating
between sheer terror and excitement, which I am sure is
normal. The most amazing thing to me through this whole
process is what a wonderful support system have in my
life. I am only telling my closest friends and family
what type of surgery I am having, but they are
rallying around my decision and supporting me like you
wouldn’t believe! What a wonderful feeling to be so
loved.<br><br>Does anyone have any words of wisdom as I am about to
go under the knife?<br><br>Thanks for

I love that name, my grandmother had the same
only she went by Lucy. I have no idea why. It is
horrible waiting for the dates to come up. I get to meet
with my surgen on May 5th. I can’t wait. It seems like
it will never get here. I haven’t been in this group
that long myself, but the time I have been here I’ve
learned so much from everyone. Well, welcome Dorothy!

Hello one and all!<br><br>I’m new here my name is
Dorothy and I live just south of Seattle. I’m going in
for wls on May 31, 2001. It seems like that day will
never get here! I met with my Doctor on Feb 3, and have
been waiting since for the surger. I am 361 pounds
right now, down from 405 pounds one year ago.<br><br>I
just looking forword to the day I can RUN after my
little girl and not have to sit and rest afterwords.
Hope to make some new friends in here and have some
extra surport.

Does anyone else out there hear this whenever you
mention having this surgery done…"Why don’t you just
eat what you will be eating after the surgery and you
will lose the weight!" Oh my gosh, if I hear that one
more time I think I’ll punch someone. Please tell me

referral from my pcp. I have Cigna insurance. Does anyone have any
recommendations?

Hi all .. My name is Kim Molina. I live in NW
Arkansas. I am 38, married, 3 wonderful children, 6 dogs,
17 hermit crabs, 3 fish and a parrot.. hummm sounds
like a zoo..lol.. Well the animals are the easy ones..
HEE HEE HEE.. I just wanted to share some of me.. I
am over weight and I am having RNY surgery in
April.. I have 3 different dates that are tentative. I
will find out for sure during my appointment on April
3rd. I have researched about WLS for a few years. I
finally got to the point in my life that i decided that
if I want to live and be happy and healthy then this
is the answer for me.. I have dieted and lost lots
of weight but as soon as I stop the diet drugs and
eat again I gain it back plus more.. Ok enough.. I am
hoping to hear from you all and maybe a few things can

Whoa!What am I going to do with all this skin? Is there anything I can rub in
to help my skin shrink up as I loose? I know there is skin tuck surgery, but is
there anything not quite so drastic?

Hi! I just got done viewing your site and thought
I would drop you a line to tell you how wonderful I
thought it was. I loved reading about the surgery and
things you faced. Some of the things that I had been
wondering about were answered after I read what you went
through. I am also looking to go to the BTC, but in
Illinois. I had to get insurance through were I work before
I went for the consult so now I am waiting for my
insurance to go through at work. I’m worried because
someone just told me that our insurance wouldn’t even
cover someone that had an MRI done. I don’t know what
else to do if they won’t allow me to have this done. I
thought maybe I would look into getting another health
plan, have any suggestions? I wish you the best of luck
