Questions about the pre-op

How many things do you have to go through before
the surgery? I live about 5 hours away from where
I’ll have to have the operation done, so I was just
wondering how many times before the surgery I would have to
go up there.
Also, I’ve made my mind up to have
it done. I just hope all goes well with insurance
and everything at the consult.

I had to have blood taken, standard lab work, and
a chest exray. It was done the day before, but they
said I could have gone in a couple of hours early
surgery morning and had it done. So, I would say maybe
    one trip, or maybe none.

Many people who have to travel to have surgery
can have pre-op testing ordered by their family
doctor in their home town. It does not necessarily have
to be done at the hospital, so you should check with
    your doctor. :) Good luck!
laura
