I was just curious if anyone had dealt with Unicare. I have Unicare PPO and was
wondering if anyone had problems or what your experience was with
them.
Debbie from Chicago

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

I recently received my approval letter from my insurance company. I am both
excited and nervous at the same time.

What is the next thing I can
expect to happen??

Thanks to all

Thanks to everyone for giving me some well needed
advise about the pre-op question. I’ve finally gotten up
the guts to tell my mother about the operation. It
wasn’t as bad as I had imagined. She was actually
(almost) for it without that many worries. LOL
Brandy

Not sure who you have to be or what test you have to pass to get an
acknowledgement to a post around here.

Guess I’ll just go back to
lurking.

Saturday, April 17th, 2004

Hi all just had my pre admin testing today. Not
glowing in the dark yet from the xray…LOL. Anyhoo was
wondering if any of you guys have and tips to get though
week leading up to the surgery, and also what are some
good things to take to hospital with you, or wish you
had there? Thanks for all your support just from
reading the posts. Going for an open RNY on March
20th.
thanks again,
Sean

HI!

Friday, April 16th, 2004

I’m new here! just getting started - i have my
first appointment with my surgeon on the 15th. Does
anybody here know about how Regence-Blue Shield is on
approving this surgery? sure would like to hear if anybody
else has dealt with them on this.

Questions about the pre-op

Friday, April 16th, 2004

How many things do you have to go through before
the surgery? I live about 5 hours away from where
I’ll have to have the operation done, so I was just
wondering how many times before the surgery I would have to
go up there.
Also, I’ve made my mind up to have
it done. I just hope all goes well with insurance
and everything at the consult.

Hi, me again

Friday, April 16th, 2004

Well I’m almost done with all the pre-op
evaluations I had to go through. I’ve still got to see the
Psychologist and I am having a gastroscopy both scheduled for
next week.

I just spoke to my surgeon’s office
and she says she will call my insurance company to
get the approval. I am tentatively scheduled for
surgery on April 10. I’m going to have the Roux-en-Y
procedure done laprascopically.

I continue to read
all the encouraging messages here!

Thanks for
listening,
Michelle*
PS: Will post pictures soon!

New Member here and New Pics Posted

Thursday, April 15th, 2004

Hello everyone. I am a new member here, and I
also posted my pics in the photo album under
Snowprincess. I had my surgery on 09/07/00. I started at 250
and a size 26. Currently, I am at 160 and a size
10/11. I run the support group for my area and also work
with the surgeons office in talking to anyone who
needs to talk about this life-changing procedure.
