Obesity surgery

On my other club I saw that one of members passed away his name was Macleod1272
I just wanted to let everyone else know.

What is the average time that it takes, from
consultation to surgery? I have sleep apnea, use a C-Pap
machine, so the sleep test should be bi-passed. I have my
consult on June 21st. I am just trying to guage the time
frame. I work as a produce clerk, and hate to put my
co-workers thru hell during a holiday time…….

hello all I got my d date it is june 13. I am so
looking forward to it. I am so scared also. I am worried.
I was wondering what type of surgery did you all
have? I am so scared, did you LOTS of pain when you
woke from the surgery? What types of drugs do the use
for pain? How painful is it on the scale from 1-10?
How long did it take for you all to back to a normal
day life? I have more question. I will ask later.

I called as suggested to see why my claim went to
appeals when it was never officially denied. I spoke with
a very nice lady who explained to me twice what was
going on. She says she is putting in writing today that
all she needs is a letter from my previous physician
in NY stating my last visit about my weight which
was over 6 months ago and then I am approved. She
said it was in the medical directors hands as we spoke
and that she did not see any problem with it getting
approved!! Oh my GOD….it may just happen for me. I want to
be excited but I’m still scared something will go
wrong….

Life for me has changed drasctically. I once was
a size 22-24 and now I am a size 6. Do I like
myself anymore since the change, or do I dislike the way
people view me now that I am more desirable? Believe it
or not, sometimes I wish I was like I used to be.

I sent in a letter of grievance with the
frustration of BC/BS preapproval process. My case was neither
approved OR denied. So when I carefully read my
manual,this was the only route to take. I got a call back
from a supervisor who was trying to help and said he
was going to hand deliver my letter to the appeal
board due to the urgency (Surgery is scheduled for June
14). He said I would hear from someone on that board
within 3 days. I didn’t. I called and spoke with a
Bridget. She said she sent a letter of acknowledgement
concerning receipt of my letter for appeal. She said they
have 30 days to respond yes or no. Also, she said they
would have an answer before the surgery date. Does this
sound good or bad? I’m suppose to have a bladder tack,
gall bladder removal at the same time. Do they get all

Hello everyone, This is my first post so please
bare with me, I am a 27 year old married mother of two
beautiful children. I weigh 325 lbs. I have my first appt
with my surgeon scheduled for 5-31-01. Please pray for
me. What I need help with is questions I shoukd ask
my doctor. I guess what I am trying to say is that I
am new at this I want to make sure that I know as
much as possible, Is there a list of questions that I
should ask? Also,I have Cigna and would love to hear
from others regarding them. Thank You for listening.

Hello everyone…I don’t suppose any of you here
now even recognize my name. I had my surgery April
14th 1999 and just celebrated my 2nd birthday or
perhaps "anniversary" would be a better way to say it. I
came back here from time to time to keep up with
everyone and to let you all know how I was doing, but it’s
been a very long time since I’ve "dropped in" to let
you all know how I’m doing.<br>As previously stated I
am 2 yrs out from my surgery and to date have lost
just over 200 pounds. I have been the same weight
since Sept of last year. Those last 20 pounds are
hanging on for dear life but since I’ve stabilized at
this weight for so long I’m not dreading being 20
pounds more than I "wished" I could be, especially after
losing over 200 other pounds! My life has change so

I just got my call from the doctor who my case was refered to. I have my initial
appointment October 26. *sigh* So long. I’d like to think if they had a cancel
I’ll be moved up. Let’s hope so.
