7 years post-surgery
Life for me has changed drasctically. I once was
a size 22-24 and now I am a size 6. Do I like
myself anymore since the change, or do I dislike the way
people view me now that I am more desirable? Believe it
or not, sometimes I wish I was like I used to be.

the question is, do YOU feel better about yourself? Forgive my "french" but to
hell with the other people who can only see the outside!

I’m so glad that you who have been out there
longer have posted. I was just talking to my doctor and
she wanted me to try and talk to some people that’s
been post. for awhile.
Even though people are
treating you different now, you still feel better about
yourself don’t you?
I just saw a video of me at a party
the other weekend and that really made my mind up. I
did not know how huge I looked. I guess I still look
at myself and see the old, younger me. I had no
idea! I knew I was getting big, but I had no idea I was
that big.
Well, just something I wanted to pass
along to you all.

Brandy

p.s. i got some
of my tests done. i’m getting closer and closer and
i can’t wait. i’m going to call and see if my date
has been set yet. YEAH!

You nailed that one on the head! What I saw in
the mirror and in my mind were two totally different
people. Then I saw some pictures that I was not able to
deny the size that I had become. I knew I had to
address my health problems which were a large result of
my weight. I cried when I finally faced the truth. I
was really hard to admit to yourself what you let
happen. At least we’re trying to do something about it
now, right?

Why? How have things changed to give you that attitude, and what kind of
surgery /complications do you have?
Cathy

Brandy: You can’t go by the surgery that a
several years post person had, they have changed the open
rny since then. My doc does his own thing with it,
and I don’t have the complications that others that
had it done years ago do. Well, just be sure you are
comparing apples to apples, not oranges!
Cathy
