Brandy, you hang in there! I can’t think of
anything harder than quitting smoking, especially when
eating is an issue, too! I’ll keep sending the good
thoughts your way. Did you get a patch? I’ve heard those
do help. ~kim

Three days is great! You have the right train of thought….having the
opportunity to have WLS compared to continued smoking. Just think how much
better you will feel due to both accomplishments!

Ex Smokers:
I too quit smoking for the
surgery, and I must say I am so proud of us all for our
commitment to making our bodies healthier! We are a
magnificent, dedicated group of people and we deserve
applause! Just remember how much longer and happier we will
all be due to our hard work.
Cathy

Brandy, I am so proud of you!! It is so hard to
quit. I smoked for 18 years and quit in January for my
surgery in June (which was moved up to May 7th) and since
the surgery, I have honestly not thought once about
smoking. Prior to the surgery it crossed my mind several
times a day and I came close to buying cigs on many
occasions, but I cannot think of a better motivator to quit.
I knew gaining weight would not be a problem, so it
made me that much more dedicated to finally quit
forever. Best of luck to you and congrats on a very, very
difficult task! Julia

Fantastic!!!! I can honestly say that quitting
was the hardest thing I have ever done. It will be so
much easier when your focus shifts to your recovery,
eating, and the prospect of a healthier happier life. I
cannot tell you guys how proud I am of you, I know how
horrible it is…hang in there! Julia
