9 weeks post op and panicked!

I am asking for some encouragement. I seem to
have forgotten why I had the surgery. I have been
snacking on all the wrong things, i.e. chips, cookies. I
KNOW THIS IS WRONG and for some reason I still do it.

I have lost 48 pounds and know that I could have
done better if I could stop this snacking and exercise
more.

I feel so depressed. I look at all the
other successes that get posted and just cringe knowing
that I am only hurting myself.

Please help!

YOU’VE LOST 48 POUNDS! GOOD FOR YOU!
Don’t
compare yourself to anybody else, and for goodness sake,
don’t "should" on yourself anymore! I think the biggest
help is other people,so talk to your doctor, and keep
in touch!
~kim

I haven’t had the surgery so I really can’t give
advice, but hopefully I can offer some support!! Don’t be
so hard on yourself. you’ve done great so far & just
because you are snacking doesn’t make it hopeless! you
can always make it better! think of all the weight
that you’ve lost as your motivation to keep going!! if
you’ve lost 48 lbs in just over 2 months, think how much
you can lose in 6!!!!

Hey you have lost 48 lbs. and that is quite an
accomplishment. Yeah, the cookies aren’t a great habit, but you
do recognize that it isn’t the best diet for you and
that is a big step. If you are not up to exercising,
start reading about better foods and what other people
are eating that actually tastes great. Don’t be so
rough on yourself. WLS is a tool and you have lost 48
lbs, so you must be using it right somewhere! You are
already a success story!

I cant say I’m there yet….only 2.5 weeks
post-op but I have heard that this is comon. Just
remember to take it in modoration…one or two cookies is
okay but not the whole pack.:)
48 pounds is
GREAT!!! Just think about the next 5 pounds and the ones
after that….I’m sure it will all happen for you. Have
you tryed to get "better" junk food? I hear there are
some good low fat/cal. cookies out there and I cant
see were once in awhile that would hert.

Best
of luck,
Dorothy
post-op May 31, 2001
