Can someone help

Saturday, July 31st, 2004

I am getting so tired of this insurance
crap!

I don’t know what to do. My insurance co. is now
telling my pcp that they need to resubmit the files they
already sent them a month ago. They do not give a reason,
just ask for them. Just last week I faxed a claim form
for the second time. I really thought that after they
received that form it would only be ten days from then,
now they are asking for my files again. I don’t know
what to do. Should I call and let them know that no
matter how long they try to make me wait, I’m still
going to be here (if not dead) I don’t want to piss
them off to the point that they really start messing
with me, but I don’t want to just lay down and take
it.
If anyone has any suggestions I would really
appriciate them.I’m going crazy. I should have been approved

What is the average waiting period

Saturday, July 31st, 2004

Hi…I’m new to the club. I will be going in for
my initial consult soon. They told me it might be
two or three months until I have the surgery. Is that
a normal waiting period? I am so anxious…. I’m
already driving my hubby nuts with all my "day dreaming"
of the sugery and post surgery "what ifs". By the
way, I’d love to talk about wls with anyone so ims are
welcome. : )

Introduction

Friday, July 30th, 2004

Hi, everyone

My name is Phil Wade. I live
in the northern part of Louisiana and am happily
married with two grown daughters, one in DC and one in
graduate school in Monroe, LA. We have a dog named Isabel
and a cat named Felix.

My problem is familiar
to all of you because all of you have been there. I
have finally decided I am going to die if I don’t do
something and it is quite obvious that something is not
dieting. Been there, done that too many times to count. I
have been in WW, TOPS, etc. I have tried Jenny Craig,
diet pills, Metrecal, etc. I have cut out fatty foods,
foods with sugar. I have tried cutting out carbs, meat,
even tried starvation. Of course, nothing has worked.
I lose weight for a period and then get on a
plateau, get disgusted and quit.

My medical is

Well I have not posted in a while, lots of things
going on. I have an appt with the pscyh doc on the 27th
for my psych eval. After my doctor gets the results I
can schedule a date for surgery.

Today
something happened that really touched my heart and I
wanted to share it with everyone.
My sister and I
work at the same place. I left my office for a few
minutes only to come back and find a card on my desk. It
was from my sister and this is what it
said:

Sometimes it takes all the courage we possess to make a
decision that could change our lives. No one can deny that
putting off action is a lot easier than diving in. But I
know you, and I know that you are capable of doing
anything you set your mind to… you have strength and
good judgment and you can do this! Go for it and never

rethinking?

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

Hi! I’m in the early stages of getting the
surgery approved. While my weight is causing a lot of
health issues none of them are life threatening at this
point.I just recently came across the memoriams at
obesityhelp.com.It really made me realize what a drastic step this
will be.So now I’m kind of on the fence about still
pursuing the surgery.Does anyone else feel or has felt
this way?

Hey, I’ve got a question?

Monday, July 26th, 2004

To all my better versed WLS buds. (You know who
you are.)

I was surfing/lurking/trolling all
of my WLS club sites (Which is becoming a regular
pass time for me I might add.)and found that My Doctor
(Shawn Garber)does a proximal RNY as opposed to a
Distal(?)RNY. Whats the difference?

I await you learned
answers. post haste.

Roch

I am in a very
wierd mood today. don’t ask me why?

I have 3 weeks left until surgery

Can anyone tell me what I need to have here at
home when I return from the hospital. I am having a
Lap done and don’t expect to be down long. Should I
be worried about anything? Right now all I am
worried about is hair loss. Isn’t that crazy!!! I can’t
get over it. Can someone PLEASE tell me what that is
like. Should I expect to loose alot or just have a good
shedding. Please set me straight on anything I need to
know. Could you also please tell me who has had the
laps done and if you have had any problems. I read
somewhere that a woman had a lap done and ended in ICU for
3 months. Scares the crap out of ya. Sould I be
concerned? Any advice will be appreciated.
Darlene
