Hi Jenny!

I think we all are facing, or
have faced the fears of dying of this surgery, or of
complications. Scares the hell out of me personally, but then
again, so does dying of sleep apnea at the age of 27. I
also considered the fact that I had my son a little
over a year ago by C-Section (emergency), and as with
any surgery there are risks...but it's not like I had
the option of not having him because of those risks
right??

I will try to find the site, but recently I came
across a published study that measured the risks of
having the surgery compared to the risks of morbid
Obesity. There were two groups. One group had the surgery,
and three patients died. The other group was the
group that didn't have the surgery and 27 people died
of their co-morbidities. Thats NINE TIMES MORE than

the people that had the surgery!....9 to 1
odds....for me I'll pick the surgery.

This should in
NO WAY be taken as a push to have the surgery. It is
a personal and sacred choice my friend. I saw the
memorial site as well, and cried in my heart for those
people. But a good percentage of them died of other
causes unrelated to the surgery. I don't want to be one
of them. Keep looking on the net. The studies are
out there that can balance your research!

And
keep posting....knowledge is POWER!!

Take Care
My Friend!

Brenda
(In Canada)

hi Jenny-
I read that whole page myself one
day before my surgery. I did read how they died too &
most could have been prevented. there were some who
weren't eating right & supplementing their nutrients. a
lot also died from blood clots. the sooner you get up
& moving the less chance you have of those. believe
me, I know how hard it was to get up & get moving!
the surgery in itself is not dangerous. the majority
of the risks are because of the fact that it is
surgery in general. so don't let that scare you
