New Guy in Town…..
Well I’m considering getting a by-pass to lose
weight… so upon searching the web, I found this place and
thought I would join.

My history:
I’m a former
professional athelete that was training for the Barcalona
olympics in Equestrian sports. I had an accident and
fractured my back in 3 places, my shoulder and later I
broke my knee also. In the last ten years I spent 5 of
those lying in a hospital bed recuperating from 7
surgeries in my lower back and thats where I inflated to a
whopping 305 pounds (6 feet tall)

In the middle of
all this I went to school and got me a diploma in
Fine Arts and then a Diploma in computer sciences and
a career as a Computer Specialist.

Lately
I’ve been off work for depression, drugs are good and
getting to normal. Last Monday night I declared outright
war on my fat body and I will take no prisoners. I’m
gonna take back everything that was mine and will get
my fabulous athletic body back.

And thats my
story so far.

I’ll be keeping an eye in here and
hope to meet a lot of people and get lots of info from
those who fight the same fight I’m
fighting…

Thanks and see you soon ![]()

Well congratulations!!!!!

You have taken
the first step to wellness. I had my surgery
12/14/1999 and was 306 when I went into the hospital. I have
lost 150 lbs and feel wonderful.

Continue your
research on the surgery, also research the doctors in your
area and their success rate. That is also important.
Check out their follow-up of their patients. What they
offer as support network. Nutritionist available,
pschyological available. These are very important factors to a
successful surgery outcome.

God Bless

If you
wish to correspond please feel free to do so. I will
be more than willing to answer any questions you may
have.

Phyliss

Thanks for the welcome
I found a doctor who

developped his own technique with the only side effect being
vomiting if the patient consumes to much food. So far from
what I’ve seen his success rate is amazing and one of
his patients his my sister’s boss’s wife and she lost
150 pounds in 1 year. I’m currently receiving
chemical treatment for depression (related to my weight)
My problem as an athlete was I had eat a LOT OF FOOD
to keep powered up for my training and overnight I
quit sports. My stomach was used to receiving great
intakes and thats a habit that you dont quit overnight
and with all my injuries and surgeries it was
impossible to exercise with 100 pounds of excedent weight.
As soon as the weight starts dropping after the
operation it’ll be back to the gym as sson as my doctor
OK’s it. As for a support network, I’m not the
support/therapy kinda guy LOL =) Plus here in Quebec they dont
offer much as support since we dont pay for our medical
treatments, the goverment keeps it to a minimum but hey it
wont cost me a cent =D

Thanks for the hints and
tips and you’ll be seeing me around… I can write up
a storm LOL
