Hi Nadine, It’s normal to be nervous. But living
life being obese is more scary then surgery. Just go
in surgery prepare. Know things can go wrong. I went
in surgery praying for the best but I prepare for
the worst. I wanted to make sure things was taken
care of just in case I was gone longer then what I
should have been. You should do deep breathing now.. It
sure will help when You have to after surgery.. Walk
as much as possible.. The more I walked after
surgery the better I felt. It does it easier. Remember no
matter what trouble some people have they say they would
do this again. I had very smooth surgery. But you
bet I would do this again. I just went for my 7month
visit and I’ve lost 153lbs. I got my life back. I no
longer just exist any more.. I’m living. I had the
BPD/DS. So I take my vitamins daily. I made that decision
before I had this surgery. I know some people after they
feel good they don’t take them then they get there
self in trouble. So if your Dr wants you take vitamins
I say do it no matter what. It was hard at first to
get the vitamins down but it does get easier. I
exercise daily. I feel so much after wards. I was going to
say I’m hoping to loose another 90lbs.. But I will
loose another 90lbs.
Scar not bad at all. I will
show my scar to anyone that ask. I don’t care. I did
use Vitamin E oil after I got the staples out. They
say it helps.. Rather it does or not I don’t know.
As for hair loss. I have long hair also. So i wasn’t
to worried about it.. It does go away and will come
back.. I had some thining for couple months.. They say
take Zinc. But I got bottle of prime rose oil and took
it till it was gone.
Good luck. Your in my
prayers and thoughts for speedy recovery. This is the
best decision I ever made.

T

Nadine, I don’t know about the cramps. But I can
tell you before I went into surgery It was hard for me
walking around the house. I had no energy at all. But I
can tell you that will change after surgery. Some
people do experience tireness after surgery that it
takes 6 to 8 wks to feel like you got your energy
back.. Just listen to your body. When you need to rest,
just rest. Everyone is different. I know some people
that had someone stay with them for over month or
longer cause they just didn’t have energy. But I got
home on Tuesday. That night I fixed dinner for
everyone. Next day I was taking kids to school and dancing.
Once in while I would take nap. But not to often. Each
day I found I had more and more energy. I started
walking soon as I got home.
Sorry to hear that your
don’t have support from your family. I know it’s
important. But you know they could be just scared. Does your
Dr have support meetings? That seems to help family
when they go and listen to others. But the most
important thing is your doing this for yourself. Sometimes
you just have to tell your family that your going to
do this with or without there support. That your
doing this so you can have healthy life that you can’t
keep living this way. I had Aunt that tried her best
to talk me out of surgery. But before I told anyone
in the family I researched everything I could. Then
once I made my decision. I went and told them all.
They was very supported. But scared also. But knew I
had to do something. My Aunt was telling me how I
could die. I said well I’m dying now. So I have to try
to better my life and this is my last chance.
Finally she seen nothing she said to me was going to
change my mind. So she finally left me alone. Now she so
happy I went on with it. And is telling others about
surgery and me. Just give them time. You should really
talk to your Dr about taking medication now. There
some medication they want you to stop before surgery.
I wouldn’t worry to much about hair loss now. Some
people don’t even have trouble. Keep us posted how
things are going for you.

Teresa

I hope that you are making the right decision to
have the Fobi pouch. It looks pretty drastic to me. I
hope that you have done research and checked out all
the options available to you. The scar is mild when
compared to all the complications that can arise from WLS.
I wish you the best.

Dottie

Hi,

did you have your surgery ? How are
you ? I too am going to have the fobi pouch with the

thing carney wilson had but when I read about the bile
& dumping I decided to research it alittle more. I
can’t wait to have this done…I have already done all
the pre-op stuff , I’m just waiting for my insurance
to go through.. and I already have the 20% that they
don’t cover…

How much did you want to loose ?
