Protein Powder and Onions

I had the surgery on Sept 25th and have lost a
little over 40 lbs. I find the protein powders
nauseating. I have tried ever possible concoction in which to
include them and my pantry is starting to resemble a GNC
I have so many different kinds of protein.
Nonetheless, protein powders gross me out.

My other
problem is that the smell of onions makes me gag. Any
suggestions?

Don’t smell onions….is a good suggestion…I AM
JUST BEING funny here! LOL I don’t have many food
issues as far as smells and such so I can’t offer advice
on this one! Hope it gets better for you
tho!

:)
Ice

I know what you mean about protein powder. Unfortunately I threw
mine away before thinking what i could use it in. So maybe you can
try it out and let me know if it works for you. I wanted to add a
little to pancake batter or muffin mixes. I don’t think it would be
as noticable in them. I may buy some to try it again. I’m losing
too much hair to just do nothing. I think those new protein bars may
help though. I actually found a few kinds that I like! :-}

I have not been following your discusiion, but I saw the protein
thing and the hair loss comment. I am 6 months post op and I have
lost alot of hair, handfuls at times. My solution , whether it
helped or not, was to wash my hair every other day and only pic it
through 1 time a day. It seemed the less I washed and combed, the
less I lost, although I lost alot.

As for the protein shakes, I try to drink at least 3 a week. I have
tried many many shakes looking for the best and the best I have tried
is "Designer Whey" in vanilla and vanilla praline (strawberry was
crappy and I don’t like chocolate). It has 17 grams of protein per
scoop-when mixed with skim milk, it has a total of like 25 grams. I
throw in ice and fruit( peaches, mostly), sometimes yogurt, and for a
treat, I put in low fat, no sugar vanilla ice cream and whip it.
Just a suggestion-hope it helps :)
