Kim'
Thanks for the info. I did think that you meant that we could no longer
drink milk. I now drink fat free, so maybe it will be the same.
Sami

Sami

I hope i did not give you the
impression that you cannot drink milk :) I love it and drink
it every day. However, i cannot drink anything but
nonfat or skim. The others taste well, they taste like
they are goin bad or old or something. Probably the
fat in the milk.

hugggggggggs

Kim

Sami,
Who says you can't drink milk anymore??
Lots of posties tolerate milk fine. I am not one of
them (boo whoo) but things that you will be able to
tolerate will be as individual as your DNA!

Ice

Kim, Thanks for your great reply. I really like
to know what to expect. I didn't think I would need
help the first week, but now I am prepared.
I
didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to drink milk any
more.
I did pick up Carnie Wilson's book yesterday,
however I didn't get to start it as I brought home our 6
month old grandson for the weekend, and now another
daughter is flying in for a few days so I am off to the
airport to get her.
Thanks
and Hugs to You
Tooo!
Sami

Sami
Now at 5 wks i can do almost anything. I
still may get a bit sore here and there, especially
since i have a lot of stressors right now, but all is
goin well. Doc has given me permission to go back to
work as of yesterday. I have been doing normal chores,
since about 4wks. Others hubby helped (laundry,
vacumming)
I definately needed help when i got home. I was
seriously sore. I would say the first week is good for
constant support, after that you can start to do the
"needed" things like getting up and down by yourself :) as
long as your careful. But everyone is different.
As
far as cravings, i dont have any actual cravings. I
have some "head wishing" like i wished i could have
something, but i know that i cant, and really dont have any
uncontrolled cravings :) its really amazing. The only thing i

like alot of is skim milk, LOL, if i could i would
drink it all the
time.

hugggggggggggggs

Kim

CPAP IS A MACHINE THAT HELPS YOU SLEEP BETTER IF
YOU HAVE SLEEP APNEA. I AM 46 DAYS POST OP AND I JUST
STARTED TO USE MY CPAP WHEN I WENT IN FOR SURGERY AND IT
HAS MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE. I USE TO GET UP
EVERY HOUR AT NIGHT JUST TO PEE AND I SNORED SO LOUD IT
WAS AWFUL. NOW I SLEEP ALL NIGHT AND DO NOT SNORE AT
ALL. PLUS I NO LONGER FALL ASLEEP DURING THE DAY OR
WHEN I AM DRIVING. I LOVE MY CPAP BUT CANNOT WAIT TO
GET RID OF IT.

I HAVE LOST 61 LBS BUT I JUST
DON'T REALLY SEE IT. BUT AM EXTREMELY HAPPY AND AM
STRIVING TO HIT 100 LBS BY CHRISTMAS.

XOXO
Nadine

Kim;
WOW 48 lbs in 5 weeks. It must just be
amazing.
At 5 weeks what kinds of activities can you
do?
When you first came home did you need anyone with you?
My husband says he wants to stay home for as long as
I need him to help. I don't even know if you come
home needing help.
I do plan on stopping by Books A
Million and getting the new book by Carnie Wilson - Gut
Feeling. I hear its pretty good, but I do want to read
it.
How much craving do you still have?
Sami

Hi

I am 5 wks postop, went to the surgeons
office today. I have lost a total of 48 lbs from 397 to
349.
I started retaking my Thyroid medication about 2
wks postop and continue to do so.
I have not
taken my glucophage for diabetes since before surgery.
I periodically check my sugar, but it seems to be
fine for now :)
I am still at the stage where
others notice the weight loss more than I do
:)

huggggggggggs

Kim

PS: ALthough i wished i did not have
the surgery the
first 2 days postop, after that...... I have no regrets
(other than wishing i could eat half a pizza, ROFL, but
its a wishful thought, not a craving)
